Obama on VA allegations: 'I will not stand for it'

It's the military. Firing people didn't fix the problem when three generals were forced to resign back in 2007 over the Walter Reed Hospital Scandal. Demanding resignations doesn't fix the problem because it's inbred in the culture.

The other problem with demanding resignations is that people can learn from their mistakes and are less likely to make the same mistakes again, as opposed to bringing in someone new and having the same mistakes made as under previous leadership.....which appears to be the case here.

These were not mistakes. This was a concerted effort of subterfuge for $$. I'm not talking about demanding resignations. I'm talking about serving walking papers.

You can't hold the boss responsible for his Administration actions. ;)

Unless of course the boss works for a Wall Street firm or Exxon Mobil.;) Then he's supposed to know everything down to the most minute detail, including when his workers changed pens or went to the bathroom.

Of course the people who actually commited a crime should be held accountable. But I don't think Shenki(?) is responsible for cooking the books, so what good what it do to fire him? A new commander isn't going to change the culture or the bureaucracy at the VA anymore than the last four or five firings and resignations did.

Rather relieving to have a president so on top of scandals.....

Did we not hear him also say he would not rest until the killers of the Banghazi four were brought to justice. That was in 2012. That's a lot of missed resting, so maybe he's loosing it.....

who knows, but he's always been such a solid, dependable man of his word..."I didn't say that, what I said was you can keep your plan unless the insurance company changes it."

Man of his word, it's only the words that keep changing. Can't blame him.

Shinseki was pressured into retiring a week early. :rofl

Guess that showed him.

Twenty years from now the VA will still be as screwed up as a Chinese fire drill. It might even be worse than it is now.

Don't take my word for this, wait and see.

He's got OJ working it.

Of course, didn't you know Bush was responsible for watergate.

Yeah, he also started the War............................................. for Independence.

He's kinda screwed no matter what. Suppose he fires the head of the VA. Why? For knowing it was ****ed up and doing nothing about it? Hell, thats his whole administration. For NOT knowing it was ****ed up in the first place? Again...his WHOLE administration. For failure to provide adequate oversight? Thats three for three.

Hillary didn't have to resign. Well what difference, at this point, does it make?

Only after he lied about WMDs that the French had, hence the French-Indian war.

I admire a man who knows his history. They should teach that in all 57 states.

A link would be nice.

I think Shinseki offered his resignation but Obama refused and wanted him to stay on to deal with the crisis.....kinda like he did with Sebilius when the government ACA website failed. But you're claiming Shineski did resign....so when did this happen?

Meh Education was better in the original 20 colonies.

You mean someone to shield him and take all the heat while he denies knowledge? Yes, I think you're right.

She meant Petzel (as did I).

Petzel was on his way out and all they did was push him out early for the effect.

I'm sure Maggie is perfectly capable of speaking for herself and telling me what she meant.

He's not screwed. His party faithful will still be panting like dogs at his every word and declaring him blameless.

Obama is by far the most useless and incompetent boob I've ever seen. It's amazing this country is still intact.
