Where would you like to start the next war of choice according to faulty intel to benefit Haliburton?
Have you noticed the polls overwhelmingly against foreign intervention, thanks to last decade's ****-ups?
The GOP is certainly split like the Grand Canyon between Neos and Isos .

The US did not support any "Death Squads" in Nicaragua. That was the communists in power. It was the Americans who helped free the Nicaraguan people and allowed them to have a democracy. That Cold War propaganda should stay back in the 70's and 89's where it belongs.

I am not sure what to order from Rosetta Stone, Russian, or mandarin Chinese?
Communism was always about totalitarianism and control while the western leftists thought it some sort of 'share the wealth' scheme where everyone would share in the bounty of the harvests, have free medical, and sing folk songs on the streets of Havana and elsewhere. Because of seven decades of this never even coming close to happening anywhere in the world it is safe to assume that these people are simply not very observant or intelligent.

The labels you attach to each other is unimportant. Check out their actions and you can see a lot more.

The Nicaraguan seeds of democracy?? Yes, Reagan deserves credit for this certainly.

    There is nothing new here...

Chinese companies have been managing the Panama Canal now for decades, I do believe an international consortium was formed several years ago to build a second canal, one that would handle the big container ships.

Russian and Chinese companies have been investing heavily in Central American countries for many years now and in recent years have been taking advantage of the collapse of the US economy and edging out American competition. While Obama has been claiming all is well, the new global economy has been gobbling up US interests world wide.

This does get coverage in the shipping and economic news, but I guess not in the MSM there

*Right wingers* who try to make politics over anything happening beyond our shores?????

Ahem......There was that little matter of Syria and a Red Line. Then there was Arab Spring, oh and the great Obama apology...

And oh, gee, how many rock star tours to Europe, the ****ed up toast to the queen....and never shall we forget the making of politics, the kind where you lie to get re-elected, ta da!....

that little matter of stomping across the country, day after day, for over two weeks insisting that four dead Americans were the result of a kind of, gee, silly little demonstration that, oops,. kind of got out of hand and demolished America's reputation wold wide..

That kind of making politics over anything that happens world wide?

Or did you mean screwing with peoples lives in Kyiv, creating havoc and forcing the downfall of a duly elected government? That kind of making politics? Or is is how now that Obama has been chased from the region with his tail between his legs, Putin is regaining control of the Ukraine, more people are dying and your president is more concerned about his new heroic endeavor, kidnapped children.

People in glass houses need to be careful when lobbing grenades since you have nukes pointed back at you.

There has been talk of building a canal across Nicaragua for well over a century but now it finally seems to be happening, which really is big new news for shipping, yes, but also big news for Nicaragua and not so good news for Panama. The Nicaragua Canal can handle larger cargo and shorter times from Asia to Europe.

Yes, the Chinese have been moving into Central America and it will probably be Chinese who will buy my properties in CR.

Russians have not been investing like the Chinese and this story of Russian involvement in the canal is a new one, or at least the first i've heard of it, and I've been following rather closely because I'm considering an investment there.

It is certainly more newsworthy than a lot of what we see being discussed on these pages, and will be around a lot longer

The Monroe doctrine wasn't entirely good for Latin America.
Killing one person is murder, killing 100,000 is foreign policy
