But if we whites hold all of the power in NH, please tell me what these powers are so I can take advantage of them.
You already do that plenty.
You equate real racism (from the majority power) with socially meaningless racial bigotry (basically, name calling) by the minority. This has the effect of passively denying the existence of real racism. It ignores history. It ignores the sociological impacts of real racism. It ignores ALL of the social aspects of a social construct.
In that false equivalence, you accomplish a few things.
1. You deny real, systemic, racism.
2. You deny the history of racism in this country.
3. You deny the lingering affects of past racism.
4. You deny the current impacts of real racism that still exists in this country.
5. You demonize blacks, as if they have ever done to us what we have done to them.
6. You belittle an understanding of what racism really is and what it really means.
7. You equate having ones feelings hurt with a lifetime of injustice in every aspect of ones life.
You do all of these things, as you help to prop up real racism in America with your false equivalence resulting from an incomplete understanding of rac
ism as a
social construct.
You might not be conscious of this. If not, I suggest you consider the intellectual weight of the above and reconsider your concept of what racism really is and what it really means.
