India's Congress party concedes election defeat

The ruling Congress party has conceded defeat in India, following reports of a clear lead for the Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies. Prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi helped the new leadership into office.
Narendra Modi will be the next prime minister of India, after early election results on Friday put his pro-business Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and allies well on course to clear the majority of 272 seats required to govern. Even by itself, the BJP appeared close to an outright majority.

So the Hindu Nationalist party won and this man, Modi, is quite controversial. he has an adversity towards muslims, which are a very large minority in India especially in N and NW India but he made populist promises and won on those.

I personally don't think this is a good move.

What is going on in the world that all these social conservative parties are coming to power?

I believe he is talking about Gandi, the leader of the Congress party or the future leader of the congress party
Conservatives believe that the government is incompetent, and seek to elect people who will ensure it is

Indian sexually transmitted democracy just met the most powerful condom known to man! Ultraconservatism.

Calling the BJP the hindu nationalist party would be like calling the GOP the christian nationalist party. Very inaccurate.

You don't really know about Indian politics. Ruling Congress party is headed by half-Italian. Correction - she is pure Italian and son is half italian
