Judicial Watch: New Documents Show IRS HQ Control of Tea Party Targeting

That's your opinion. Contrary to Obama there's more than a “smidgen” of corruption and some of it has Democrat's paw prints all over it.

That's right Vee.

Bozell: Broadcast Networks 'Allergic to the Truth About the IRS Scandal'.....

The full press release:

RESTON, Va. – Yesterday, Judicial Watch released a new batch of IRS documents that showed “extensive pressure on the IRS by Senator Carl Levin (D-MI) to shut down conservative leaning organizations.” According to an analysis from the Media Research Center, ABC, CBS, and NBC responded with exactly ZERO seconds of network news coverage. The released documents also revealed the IRS’s handling of the Tea Party applications was directed out of the agency’s DC headquarters, contrary to initial claims that blamed low-level officials in Cincinnati.

In the year since the scandal broke, numerous major developments have gone completely unreported by the Big Three. Examples include:

• On August 2, FoxNews.com reported that House Oversight chairman Darrell Issa had accused acting IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel of blocking the committee’s investigation. Network coverage: Zero.
On September 4, CNN’s Drew Griffin reported that documents showed Lerner’s original story blaming low-level employees was a lie.Network coverage: Zero.
• On September 11, 2013 the Wall Street Journal exhibited how Lerner’s own e-mails implied a liberal political agenda at work. Network coverage: Zero.
On September 18, 2013, a front-page analysis published by USA Today confirmed the targeting of conservatives. ZERO seconds of coverage.
At the end of March 2014, the New York Times noted that the House committee was still being frustrated by non-cooperation from the IRS. Network coverage: Zero.
And, an April 7, 2014 staff report by the House Oversight and Government Reform committee thoroughly demolished what remained of the notion that both sides had been targeted. Network coverage: Zero.
• Finally on May 7, 2014, The House of Representatives voted to hold disgraced IRS bureaucrat Lois Lerner in contempt of Congress. Total network coverage? 15 seconds on Good Morning America. Zero on CBS and NBC.

They do the same on Benghazi...making arguments that Hillary herself has dismissed. Its remarkable, the pathos of the left.

Pathos suggests it is beyond ones control, which is dubious in this case.

They know precisely what they are doing and that it is deceitful.

It matters not what file it is, FFS within the past two weeks there have been posts in here saying Obama never said "if you like your plan...."

It is the politics of ideologues who no longer value the "right thing" but ""anything that keeps us in power."

The very essence of what is NOT liberal and what has been the downfall of civilizations since man crawled out of the primoredial ooze and said "gimme da Obamaphone...fool".

do you have a video clip of his interveiws?

Look them Up CNN, NPR, and C-Span from all his hearings.

But I have better.....I have Mitchell's Testimony. The one PB said he didn't want to go thru.

Cleta Mitchell told Congress today the IRS is still targeting conservative groups. Mitchell also said the "ongoing" DOJ investigation is a complete sham.

"I want to make three primary points here. First, the IRS scandal is real. It's not pretend, it's real. Number two, the IRS scandal is not just a bunch of bone-headed bureaucrats in some remote office contrary to what the President of the United States told the American People on Sunday. And, number 3, the IRS scandal is not over. It is continuing to this day. And, the Department of Justice Investigation is a sham. It is a nonexistent investigation.".....snip~

You'll get it if a special prosecutor is ordered as it should be.

can a special prosicuter make someone testfy when that person has already plead the 5th?

and it is harder to convict someone of contempt of congress for simply pleading the fifth.

It's a step Congress hasn't taken since the McCarthy era, when it tried nine times to hold people in contempt for pleading the Fifth.

None of the votes have been upheld by the courts, but Republicans said that they had a responsibility to act.

First, as any Obamacrat will point out this woman is a Republican black hating racist and obviously incompetent and stupid if she has to deal with the IRS "every day"....instead of April 15th like honest Americans.

Second, this is propaganda.

Three, its all lies..

and four, it ignores the fact the first ever email on this originated in Cleveland..

five, Bush started it.

Cleta Mitchell to Newsmax: Holder Must 'Get Out of the Way' in IRS Probe

The U.S. Justice Department "has so many conflicts" in the IRS scandal that the only way to investigate the agency properly for targeting conservative groups is through a special prosecutor, top Washington attorney Cleta Mitchell told Newsmax.

"I just don't see how it's possible that they can conduct a proper investigation," Mitchell, who represented 10 groups were singled out for special screening in their applications for tax-exempt status, said in an exclusive interview. "It needs to be conducted and prosecuted by a special counsel.

"It's high time the Justice Department did what it should do: get out of way — and [Attorney General] Eric Holder needs to appoint a special counsel."

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor said on Friday that the Republican-controlled House would vote next Thursday on whether to ask Holder to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Internal Revenue Service for singling out conservative, tea party and religious groups......snip~

Which if the bush administration had followed today's liberal play book then no SP would have been ordered then either.

A special prosecutor can get to the bottom of what happened, even if someone pleads the 5th, there are ways around that. This investigation isnt going to stop because one person pleads the 5th.

Yeah because she was the Attorney Representing 10 different groups. Which.....you only know of 2 or 3 of them that made the news, huh? From Post 93.

The politics of the IRS scandal.....

Yet, it seemed immediately apparent to me that the IRS story overwhelms the other two in terms of the potential danger posed to the administration. Why? Because any American can easily understand the unfairness and fearsomeness of using the taxing power for partisan political purposes.

But my confidence in these sorts of political assessments isn’t sky high these days. Thus, I was happy to read that Nate Silver also sees political resonance in the IRS scandal. He assesses the likely political fall-out from a scandal by asking the following five sensible questions:

The long-and-short of Silver’s analysis of these questions is that “the I.R.S. story scores relatively high, meaning it could have a substantial political impact.”

As to the first question, “simplicity seems to be on the Republicans’ side in the I.R.S. case in a way it hasn’t been on Benghazi.” As to the second, “the I.R.S. story has the potential to affect perceptions of the executive branch, the Democratic Party and the United States government as a whole, and Mr. Obama.” Similarly, as to the third, “when it comes to the grievances of Tea Party voters in particular, the I.R.S.’s actions could hardly be more substantively or symbolically resonant.”

Fourth, Republicans face little risk of a backlash when they press the administration on the IRS’s conduct. It will be difficult to portray concern about IRS abuses as a partisan squabble. President Obama and other Democrats sense this, as is clear from their initial public reaction.

Finally, does the IRS scandal arise in a slow news cycle? I would say no, given Benghazihate. But Silver argues that this puts Republicans in something of a no-lose position:.....snip~

Wrong, Scooter Libby lied to the FBI (they call it false evidence). He told them Tim Russert told him about Valerie Plame. Unfortunately for him, Tim Russert testified before the GJ he did no such thing.

There is sufficient evidence to appoint a special prosecutor...there does not have to be proof, but a body of evidence of high crimes or misdemeanors....in this case Lois Lewrner has made statements to the committe *under oath*, statements which have since been contradicted by a series of witnesses, those she had attempted to blame.

that is clear indication of an attempt to deceive and obstruct justice. Her continuing refusal to hide behind the fifth amendment when she has surrendered that right with an opening statement is yet another indication of moral collapse within the system....the executive itself is indicated in wrong doing.

She did relinquish that right with her opening statement. You can't have it both ways.

Yeah some folks around here are still stuck on the first round of spin sent out via the White House that all this targeting occurred out of low-level employees at Cincinnati. That was proved completely false in September of last year.

Then you have Attorney General Eric Holder assigned to fully investigate the IRS scandal. What an friggin joke! Because his findings then has Obama come out and state there isn't a "smidgen" of wrong doing. Someone kick the jukebox to play the theme of the Godfather.

Now with all the emails and documents that Judicial Watch obtained UN-REDACTED, it revealed the names of Democrat Senators that were pressuring the IRS to target conservative groups. Now common sense tells you if there was no wrongdoing here then why was Levin's name and others redacted from the emails that Congress received?

So here you have the Democrats in the Senate pressuring the IRS to target conservative groups. You have Lois Lerner at the IRS, a Democrat with a history of political hackery claiming these practices were coming out of Cincinnati when documents clearly show marching orders were coming out of D.C. And then you have the most political atty general in history, Eric Holder, appointed by the president to investigate for wrong doing (snicker), and then a president before the "so called" investigation was completed claim no wrong doing not a "smidgen" was found..... And these documents obtained by Judicial Watch are showing them all to be a bunch of crooked liars. And there are more to come.......

How does she know better that a newspaper reporter who covered Issa's House Oversite Committe hearings? More than likely Issa lied to her, I don't she is incompetent.

Uhm.....she was the attorney in court to represent those groups and saw first hand. What the Fed had to bring to court. :doh

White House spin on IRS scandal collapsing quickly.....
May 16, 2014 <<<<< !

The administration has claimed from the beginning that any special attention give Tea Party groups and other conservative organizations came strictly at the direction of people in the Cincinnati office, and was in no way directed by anyone in Washington.

That was always hard to believe, but now we’re seeing clearer evidence that it was a lie. The latest testimony comes from IRS attorney Cleta Mitchell, who says very clearly that she talked to people in Cincinnati and they weren’t running the show.

I never heard from Cincinnati,” Mitchell said. “We only dealt with Washington.”

And these folks in Washington, whose bidding were they doing? Democrat Sen. Carl Levin for one......snip~
