Here are the details on how a year later the Times had to settle with the woman they falsely accused of having an affair with McCain.

You must have been living under a rock in 2008 to not know about this.
Umm no but it wasn't a huge story and most of it was because his own aides were nervous. Most of the story as I remember was the idea that this woman had undo influence on him making legislative decisions. It was a hot story for a minute and was more about the GOP primary than anything else. But you are right...there was outrage and that is why the story was further shown to be a half-assed story and the NYT got spanked for it.

What I remember from the GOP primary season is not much. To me this was a non-story.

If I was an American voter I would seriously consider Clintons age when casting my vote. She will be 69 in 2016 and if she were to get elected and then reelected she would be in her late mid to late 70's towards the end of her term. Thats pretty old considering the effect the job seem's to have physically and mentally.

It was a huge story, and was discussed for weeks and months.

I guess we can take that to the bank, given that it's coming from someone who absolutely guaranteed us Mitt Romney was going to win in 2012.

You mean she would be a year younger than Reagan when he took office. Yeah, that's worrying!

    Good morning, Moot.

I would like to think I would, because there are so many who, through no fault of their own, need a helping hand at times. My CPA is a stickler for taking every deduction allowed by law, and I trust him.

I grow a big garden, all organic, and although I can, freeze, and dehydrate what I need, most years there is an excess, and I think it is a sin to let it go to waste instead of sharing with others. A few years ago, I had a bumper crop of Italian parsley so I took it to the Food Bank. They were so happy to receive it, telling me "Thank you, thank you - few people ever think to bring us things like this and other herbs that makes food taste better when used in cooking." *I made a mental note to grow extra ever since then - * They determine the value, not me, so it's a win-win, IMO.

I am also a volunteer, once a week, that teaches inner-city moms how to preserve food for future use. Many schools have stopped teaching these things, sad to say, but I think it's a good idea to help people learn how to become as self sufficient as they can, since we all have to eat to stay alive. Who knows what the future holds for all of us? They seem to agree, and their enthusiasm is gratifying to me as a teacher! I am not paid to do this, BTW, nor do I list my time as a charitable deduction. It's not much, but I am doing what I can.
