Kidnapped Nigerian Girls

Stick to the topic. Don't make me report you. :)

 you are upset because a point is being made about the target, and you think that is reportable? You go ahead :).

Look, if you can't talk about the subject matter, then piss off.

:doh you are the one who explicitly asked for a reaction.

 so the news says that we are flying manned ISR missions over Nigeria searching for Boko Haram. What reaction were you expecting that you are disappointed you didn't get?

Don't know what you're talking about. All I know is that you want to talk about kidnappings in the US, so go start a thread about that. This thread is about a specific instance in Nigeria.

Where does it say that I'm disappointed?

See this quote right here?

Yes, nowhere does it say that I'm disappointed. Now, either say something about the topic or get lost please. I'm getting really tired of your silly games. Go troll elsewhere. I'm not in the mood.

Actually the point was about how that particular specific instance in Nigeria was a media creation more than it was (relative to other allocations of effort) rather than an actual, you know, particular horror that stands out in this world. :) But you go nuts. Report away. :)

That's your opinion. Apparently, since we are now involved, it's become more serious than that. Don't you think?

 I"ve been discussing the topic. You're the one upset because others here are pointing out how you are incorrect, and therefore attempting to insist that any discussion of the topic that demonstrates that is now off-bounds.

What did you think was going to happen? You report that we're using manned ISR and suddenly everyone agrees that these particular 250ish hostages are more important than the millions of IDP's in Syria, victims of ethnic cleansing in C.A.R., or thousands of sex-slaves in the U.S.?

....no? They publicized that we were involved prior to that report coming out.

Sending a plane overhead doesn't make a crime more heinous. It simply makes it better collected on.

The thread is about the specific kidnapping in Nigeria. Now, I thought I made that clear at the beginning of the thread, that I wanted to keep it about that and not start with the politics related to our own country?

No, if you disagree with the action, that's fine. Say so, but this isn't about US kidnappings. It is different because it is related to terrorism.

The link I posted says it's drones.

....that makes no sense. You are upset that people are being kidnapped and trafficked..... but you're not here to talk about people being kidnapped and trafficked?

If there were over 200 young Christian girls kidnapped by Muslims from a school in the US I feel confident the government would act and people would be outraged. But that has not been the case at all, there is no comparison, which means this false analogy is an attempt to disrupt the thread and nothing more. Why is this?

That's what I'd like to know too.

There's kidnapping and trafficking women, which is primarily money driven, and there is raiding a school and pulling out all the girls to make a political/religious statement. Are you intentionally conflating the two to make your own "statement", or do you truly not see a difference?

So you support the latter.

So you support the latter.

I support neither the former nor the latter, but we are not discussing the former here, only the latter.

So you know for a fact, this is the case? Presumably because they said so right, and they wouldn't lie?

Does he know what for a fact?

Not two hundred, but thousands of girls are in that circumstance in the US. People don't seem terribly outraged. Is it the idea that girls shouldn't be taken and forced into sex slavery all at the same time that is the moral issue? "sure, if you want to sell girls into slavery, whatever, but you have to put at least a 24 hour between them, or else, you know, you're being evil." ?

Girls are at risk all over the world, as is trafficking in women. But what does this broad generalization have to do with the subject at hand?

If girls were kidnapped under the same circumstances in the US then you can be assured of public outrage. Meanwhile this thread is not about the US. It is all about kidnapping until we learn more.

Exactly. Thank you. :)
