You mean you didn't actually read the article? Shocker.

Apparently, the county official leading the protest beilieves the BLM overstepped its authority in making a unilateral decision to close what is essentially a county road.

    Close it to vehicles.
therefore, the protest was about where it would be legal to drive vehicles.

Not about any real civil liberties.

Yes, because the protesters were fighting for the abolishment of all laws that keep them from driving where they want to. Did you even try to understand the issue? I suppose it's embarrassing either way, eh?

This is about civil disobedience to protect basic rights.

Driving ATVs in areas closed to vehicle traffic is not.

What's wrong with trying to protect archaeological artifacts and ancient ruins? You do know the ATV riders ticked off some Native Americans, right?

The BLM made the Recapture Canyon land off limits in 2007 because ATVs were damaging the land and folks were vandalizing Native American sites.
This tiff ain't about civil liberties.

why should i have to accept that any more than they accept restricted areas of public land? i want to go muddin', and their back yards look like a great place to do it. i bet my Jeep would kick ass in their back yards.

Yes, I understand the issue, the BLM or gubbermint is trying to protect and conserve artifacts, while riders of ATV's don't care what they tear up, after all, it's not their property, the artifacts belonged to Native Americans, why would they care?

Not four wheelers! They might make tracks and stuff.

How is it anarchy if people ride their four wheelers around?
