Russia's Putin outlaws denial of Nazi crimes

Russia's Putin outlaws denial of Nazi crimes
Do you think this was a good choice by him?

Uh… yes on banning such vile nonsense like Holocaust denial but this is interesting: "wittingly spreading false information about the activity of the USSR during the years of World War Two" because I strongly doubt that officially approved Russian History books and textbooks for schoolchildren reveal or discuss anything remotely considered controversial in effect being one of the most sanitized teachings of history on the planet.

Putin seems born-again. (judging by the edicts he's laid down lately
)

Lots of people all over this planet present a good plan.

When do any of those plans actually get implemented?

Think about it.

If he seriously wants to bring God and morality back into the public sphere, I'm in agreement with him. (least on that)

He is a devout Christian.

If he wanted to do that... I mean *really* do it... then he'd pull out of Crimea and apologize to Ukraine.

That ain't happening.

He has stated that Russia's involvement there is to protect Russian ethnics. If true, he has no reason to leave or apologize.

Thus the hatred from the Left.

I don't 'not' believe it. What's the alternative, believing Obama? the Media?

As long as it is YOUR God and a Morality YOU agree with of course. Many Cons love to force their morality down other people's throats but hate it when others do it to them.

Putin uses Christianity as a means to control people and to ostracize political enemies, as a tool of authority, its not about a faith in God, its not about a moral belief, its about power and control.

For a minute there I thought you were talking about Al Sharpton.

He is a devout Christian.

Cool.

At least he and President Obama have something in common!

As for the OP, no, it's not "good".

"Outlawing" basic human rights, like the ability to say what's on your mind regardless of whether or not others like or agree with it, is never a good thing.

Hitler used false faith to garner support as he gained power. It was a lie.

Look no further than his actions to see he is no Christian.

I could be, but is this a topic about Al Sharpton? Is Al Sharpton relevant to this discussion? Does the fact that Al Sharpton uses religion to achieve political ends somehow mean that Putin doesn't use religion for that purpose? Just what exactly are you ****ing driving at here? What is your intent with this post other than to derail the thread?
