You're looking to people who couldn't manage Benghazi, the Mexican border, VA hospitals, or balance a budget, to somehow manage to control the climate?

Maybe a more rational thought is that some are imagining the people who couldn't do those things are somehow managing to keep a massive conspiracy with thousands of scientists and bureaucrats and dozens of heads of state going without a leak.

But you don't 'do rational', I'm guessing.

Since the temperatures have been rising for over 200 years fairly consistently,
it does not take much to predict that they will continue to do so.
The mid to upper range of the IPCC prediction, that is so disproportionate,
with the observed data.

The original IPCC predictions were too high, and they are scaling them back.

Relative to the average from year 1850 to 1900,
global surface temperature change by the end of the 21st century is projected to
likely exceed 1.5°C for RCP4.5, RCP6.0 and RCP8.5 (high confidence). (90–100%)
Warming is likely to exceed 2°C forRCP6.0 and RCP8.5 (high confidence), (66–100%)
more likely than not to exceed 2°C for RCP4.5 (high confidence), ( >50–100%)
but unlikely to exceed 2°C for RCP2.6 (medium confidence). (0–33%)
unlikely to exceed 4°C for RCP2.6, RCP4.5 and RCP6.0 (highconfidence)( 0–33%)
and is about as likely as not to exceed 4°C for RCP8.5 (33–66%)

The 4.5 °C seems to have fallen out of consideration,
and they seem to have moved the mid range from 3 °C, down to a little above 2 °C.
If the trend continues, by the next report, their predictions should be reflective of the data.
It wont be alarming, but at least it will be accurate.

You don't get it, do you? The worldwide climate is not something that can be "managed", much less "controlled". You - like so many conservatives - are simply unable to see past your politics. AGW isn't about politics - it's about our worldwide climate, and human civilization's effect on that climate. This isn't politics - it's SCIENCE.

I can just imagine what the Right would be saying today if we were just now seeing the hole in the ozone layer caused by CFC's: "The scientists and the Left are using baseless claims about some kind of hole in the ozone layer to try to destroy free trade and capitalism! They can't even prove that it's CFC's that are destroying the ozone layer, and they can't prove that it's not a natural process!"

At that time, fortunately, conservatives listened to scientists when they pointed out problems that could affect us all. But today, Fox News would be leading the charge to "prove" how the hole in the ozone layer was just another left-wing conspiracy....

You're only a doom-sayer if the facts are not in. These facts are in. Climate change IS happening and it is excellerating. What is sad is the deniers, for political or egocentric purposes, will not relent to the facts that are in front of their face. If a car is speading toward a large crowd you would claim the person warning people to get out of the way is a doom-sayer. The car is heading toward us. You only look sillier and sillier denying it.

Then why are the alarmists so desperate to shut down anything that produces co2? They claim it's to stop global climate (change, warming, cooling, disruption... Whichever fits the catch phrase of the day)

Yes, there is science, then the findings get overblown, turned into an alarm that results in a call to action. The scientists send reports to policy makers... In this case, there is no significant separation between the science and the political objectives that are formed in the wake of the science. (In case I was not clear, the science is overblown, there's not too much about co2's impacts that has been written that was not later determined to be either an exaggeration, a manipulation of the data, or outright fabrications with no basis in reality.

Not my fault the climate priests are corrupt as they get, if the situation were so dire, you would not need to look to snake oil salesman to represent the position.

Well, cfc's actually had a measurable causative impact on the environment... The part you DONT know is that going after CFCS was to protect business, since the patents were on their way out, so an alternative was made, and this prevented any new companies from using CFCs (not a good idea regardless) to develop their own products that would be in competition.

It's accelerating?? Is that why there has been no warming for about 18 years? Why for the past 5-7 years the trend has been slight cooling?

1- 1988 predictions started in 1960?!?

2- that shows about 10 years of that no warming, while co2 has been increasing the whole time (matching the co2 used in scenario A)

3- let's ignore the fact that scenario A starts .2 degrees above observation

4 - let's ignore that scenario B is around .2 degrees above observation, except for a time where it dropped down

5- even part C divergence is concealed by method of adjusting the scale in such a way that it can be called close.., but since co2 is at scenario A levels, just goes to show how far off these people can be and still claim to be correct.

I know I know, you are an apologist for this kind of corruption.

What a better way to control, regulate and tax than to scare people with a naturally occurring event...

These con-men make it seem as if the climate has never changed and that "climate change" is some new phenomena caused my humans.. To make these crackpots seem even more ridiculous go back to the 70's and 80's and read some of their climate predictions. Depending on which ones you read we're either a) supposed to be living in "snowball Earth II" or b) the Eastern and Western seaboard should completely be covered under several feet of water by now.

To make matters worse these so called "environment scientists" have been caught fudging, manipulating and outright denying data that contradicts their "global catastrophe" scare tactics...

These ****ing assholes aren't scientists they perpetuaters of an agenda that has nothing to do with science and everything to do with politics and $$$$$$$...
