Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says[W:46]

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

FYI...the fight to do something about climate change has nothing to do with saving the earth. It has everything to do with saving human existance on the earth.
Hmm. I always thought that the guys carrying signs that say "the end is near" were religious nutballs, but perhaps they're just lost souls obsessed with climate change. :lamo

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

Why does a scientific matter, like climate change, become a partisan issue. Perhaps Cui bono has some influence on the printing and distribution of propaganda. For instance, for years, Exxon/Mobil paid phd's $10,000 per paper for climate change denier papers and still only managed to get a 3% support rate from the scientific community. Nevertheless each denier paper was media supported as if half of all scientific papers supported climate change denial. Equal coverage, 50% for all climate change papers instead of the factual 97% vs. 3%. The Mainstream Brainstream Media working its' magic. That Media is the problem as it has been co-opted by Gov't's and Intelligence Agency agendas.

There's probably a couple of things that he was less than forthcoming about. For the record, I never brought up Bush. Good job.

Ok, of those things that you think bush covered up, should there have been more done to investigate them?

$10,000? Is that all? This year alone , NOAA is offering researchers a total of $2 million to help make the public "climate-literate."

Ask your great grand children how funny your joke is.

Talk to the publicists and you get alarmism, ask the scientists and you get "denial".

I'm not saying not to investigate. I'm saying that the truth in Benghazi is not something we'll hear, and it's even less likely that anybody wants to hear it.

Isn't that a problem to you?

Isn't that a problem to you?

Only in that the CIA is doing these things.

So, am I reading too much into that answer to assume that it only bothers you when the CIA covers up, but just fine when the administration does so?

From what I've read, various organizations, including multinational banks, military organizations, intelligence agencies, energy agencies, etc., have been publishing reports on the effects of global warming.

They've changed the scare from "Global Warming" to "Climate Change", formerly known as "Weather".

I imagine we'll have lots of fun laughing about many liberal apocalypse myths: climate change, peak oil, the population bomb, etc...

I have no doubt we'd be hearing a lot more about meteors and supervolcanoes as well if you all could just figure out how to tie them to higher taxes, redistribution of wealth, and increased regulation.

Claiming climate change is 100% human caused, or 0% human caused, is clear partisan hackage. Any honest thinking person can see it's a combination.

The level of significance (of AGW) is what matters, and it seems most efforts at curbing it focus on the US, while China and India are left unchecked to puff out their stacks at full bore.....and not a word or peep from anyone on this board. That's a biggy for me, second is that I don't think the evidence support the draconian measures that environazis want to foist upon the US industry.

I'd say it went from "Global Warming" to "Climate Change" to "Increased Probability of Extreme Weather Events" ---

With the latter, any extreme event is proof of climate change, but noting the absence of such an event is proof you don't know the difference between climate and weather... :lamo

The Kyoto Protocol was a piece of garbage for that reason, and because it ignored the developing world except as scapegoats for projects that were often fraudulent.

I support moderate market based measures including cap and trade. I oppose command and control measures.

You don't understand measuring things at macro and micro levels?

Well, my grandparents were in their prime in the 1930's - it was warmer for them then, than it is for us now.

Is that the kind of comparison you were looking for??

------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's interesting how the warmist "scientists" get around that - instead of admitting to the observed data, they change it by cooling the past. There are 2 ways to approach their problem of "proving" something that isn't true - make the present and future warmer; or, cool the past, or both. Which is what Michael Mann attempted to do with his bogus Hockey Stick.

That is one of the reasons they start their graphs from the 1880's, b/c we were emerging from a LIA - of course we would warm from there, but they conveniently leave that little tidbit of information out of the discussion ;)

George Carlin summed up the global warming problem nicely. George Carlin on Global Warming - YouTube

You do realize what he's really saying is that we will die, but the world will eventually adjust after we kill ourselves by not listening. Deniers tend to misunderstand this clip.

Here's the real issue. While the government invents to ways to tax us to death and increase its power, China is the real pollution culprit of the planet.

Of course, their government already has infinite power over its people and riches, which apparently has liberal enviro-wackos jealous.

Pretty silly argument you got there, but are suggesting we invade China?

Kill ourselves by not listening to whom? Al Gore?

Leftists will believe anything!
