The ice cap is growing. You know that, right?
Here in Louisiana it snowed three times this winter.
Hell, I'll be glad when global warming kicks in! LOL!!
Obama desperately wants to change the subject from the economy and Benghazi so it's time to sound the climate alarm.
Nope, that's not how it works. This winter, while the polar vortex was kicking ass up here, it was more than 120 degrees in Australia. Very simply, if you take the temperature on spots all over the earth and average them out, it is easy to see that the temperature of the globe has increased.
Lung cancer has existed for as long as lungs have existed, but that's not an argument in favor of smoking.

And, by the way, I DO live in a 95 percent black neighborhood. Nobody worries about getting drunk on Sonic vanilla shakes in my neighborhood. People here are a bit more sophisticated than that. They read a lot. Next time you are in Houston, I will buy myself a beer at the local bar. I'll get you a Sonic vanilla shake, and we can both get a buzz going.

There's a saying that a little bit of information is dangerous. You anti science folks always cling to little bits without digging even a little further:
The take home messages is that while the increase in total Antarctic sea ice area is relatively minor compared to the Arctic, it masks the fact that some regions are in strong decline. Given the complex interactions of winds and currents driving patterns of sea ice variability and change in the Southern Ocean climate system, this is not unexpected.

If ice caps melt, we'll see an upward spike in houseboat prices.
Global warming? Satellite data shows Arctic sea ice coverage up 50 percent!

If the socialist fanatics heading the religion of global warming would calm down, and stop poisoning the flock, they would do mankind a favor.Antarctic sea ice hit 35-year record high Saturday
September 13, 2013
Antarctic sea ice has grown to a record large extent for a second straight year...
On Saturday, the ice extent reached 19.51 million square kilometers, according to data posted on the National Snow and Ice Data Center Web site. That number bested record high levels set earlier this month and in 2012 (of 19.48 million square kilometers). Records date back to October 1978.

When the ice melts in your drink, does it overflow?
If the socialist fanatics heading the religion of global warming would calm down, and stop poisoning the flock, they would do mankind a favor.
600-years ago they were growing wine in south Germany... without hybrid grape sorts... then it got too cold to grow wine and they started brewing beer.
I also wonder what the little ice age would do to the minds of the global warming zealots if it happened today?

Those are the take-home messages of a new White House report released Tuesday that is part of President Barack Obama's second-term effort to get his sorry ass to a point the public can hold its nose and vote for the fawning lick spittle he calls congressmen and senators who are fighting for their political lives.
Let's see, the minimum wage thing is less than a groundswell, he has lost on the amnesty deal, it will never happen. His foreign policy is a class one joke and Obamacare is not topping the charts.
So, we drag out the big bad bogey man that everyone fears, the earth will end in twelve minutes. The National Climate Assessement is somehow a more independent of political sway than the IRS, now under investigation for harassing Tea Party supporters.
And while warmist claims are being shot down left right and center, out uncaped hero rises majestically from the mist of 1600 Avenue to save Americans from the evil that profit has wrought upon the land.
It is, in the words of a former Canadian Prime Minister "Bull**** theater" and another scam to pry money out of your pocket.
As a typical warmist you obviously don't actually like the idea of doing the science thinking for yourself.
The land ice is all that mattes. The floating stuff will never cause any sea level change.
The land ice is growing in Antarctica and the data for the Greenland stuff is highly questionable. If it is melting (overall) at all it's doing it exceptionally slowly. The IPCC's worst case scenario has a contribution of 9cm to sea level rise from Greenland's ice.
The world's climate has not warmed for 15 to 17 years. How long will this not warming have to happen for you to think that the hypothesis of AGW might be wrong?
If it gets colder for the next 5 years will you then admit that it was all a load of bull?
At what point will you think that it's shown to be wrong? That's a science type question.
East Antarctica melt could cause a global coastal destruction - Science - News - The Independent
Parts of the vast ice sheet of East Antarctica – which collectively holds enough water to raise global sea levels by 53 metres – could begin an irreversible slide into the sea this century, causing an unstoppable process of global coastal destruction, scientists have warned.
East Antarctica is widely considered to be more stable than the West Antarctic ice sheet but a study suggests that a large region of the eastern ice sheet is in danger of becoming irreversibly unstable once a relatively thin section of retaining ice on its coast is lost, the researchers said.
A slab of coastal ice is all that is stopping the giant Wilkes Basin ice sheet from slipping into the sea.

Reading sources other than Wattsupwiththat or Climate Skeptic or Climate Depot might provide a 'slightly' different view on the matter of ice melt
East Antarctica significantly more at risk of melting than earlier thought

Though I do not personally "Do the Science"....I believe I have a somewhat more complete understanding of the intricacies than you seem to.
"GREENBELT, Md. -- A new NASA study revealed that the oldest and thickest Arctic sea ice is disappearing at a faster rate than the younger and thinner ice at the edges of the Arctic Ocean’s floating ice cap.
The thicker ice, known as multi-year ice, survives through the cyclical summer melt season, when young ice that has formed over winter just as quickly melts again. The rapid disappearance of older ice makes Arctic sea ice even more vulnerable to further decline in the summer, said Joey Comiso, senior scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md., and author of the study, which was recently published in Journal of Climate.
The new research takes a closer look at how multi-year ice, ice that has made it through at least two summers, has diminished with each passing winter over the last three decades. Multi-year ice "extent" – which includes all areas of the Arctic Ocean where multi-year ice covers at least 15 percent of the ocean surface – is diminishing at a rate of -15.1 percent per decade, the study found.
There’s another measurement that allows researchers to analyze how the ice cap evolves: multi-year ice "area," which discards areas of open water among ice floes and focuses exclusively on the regions of the Arctic Ocean that are completely covered by multi-year ice. Sea ice area is always smaller than sea ice extent, and it gives scientists the information needed to estimate the total volume of ice in the Arctic Ocean. Comiso found that multi-year ice area is shrinking even faster than multi-year ice extent, by -17.2 percent per decade.
"The average thickness of the Arctic sea ice cover is declining because it is rapidly losing its thick component, the multi-year ice. At the same time, the surface temperature in the Arctic is going up, which results in a shorter ice-forming season," Comiso said. "It would take a persistent cold spell for most multi-year sea ice and other ice types to grow thick enough in the winter to survive the summer melt season and reverse the trend."

The polar ice content is far more complex than you indicate, as are the details of long term temperature variation. Scientific evaluation of world climate does indeed point to a warming trend in place, though the reasoning behind it are in question and polluted by political and economic interests. The "World's Climate" has indeed continued warming over the last few decades, and in fact has done so at an increased pace from previous measurements.....it would seem you have been influenced by said pollution in the data which has compromised your interpretation.
YOUR ARE TALKING ABOUT FLOATING ICE AGAIN.
This science stuff is not that hard.
The floating stuff does not matter. The land ice is all that matters.
The worst case scenario for the Greenland ice is that it causes a 9cm sea level rise by 2100.
Wake up!

No....I was not, and your failure to understand this indicates further that you have a limited understanding of either the science or the English language. Multi year ice pack is not sea ice, it is generally long term accumulation of inland glacial and permanent cover. It is unfortunate you did not read the supplied data.
