Putin has taken the Crimea peninsula with much the same tactics as Hitler took the Sudetenland. Now, he's using much the same tactics on the larger part of the Ukraine.
Kerry struck a deal with his opposite number from Russia in Geneva only later to find out that the Russians weren't complying with their obligations under the agreement, it was as if we were reliving Chamberlain coming home to the UK after striking a similar deal with Hitler. I believe that Kerry pretty much as the same 'Peace in our time' statement to the press as well.
Eerie, how history repeats.
Except the seizure of the Sudetenland was not a response to the British backing an anti-German coup in Prague. The Sudetenland was also not historically a part of Germany that was simply handed over to a subdivision many years prior that subsequently gained independence. It had been historically part of the Austro-Hungarian empire and its predecessors.
