Yup, in Nebraska, the government went ahead and stole a rancher's land from him without due process.

I think someone has to do something about them NOW, before it gets out of hand and they kill someone. They are acting totally irresponsibly now, and that is very dangerous.

So like I said in other topics about this developing story, its gone beyond the unpaid fees for gazing on Federal land and turned into a question of whether or not we are going to allow an active insurgency to operate within this country.

Also, is it more ironic or sad that these folks who claim to want freedom are acting in exactly the manner of an authoritarian?

    Mighty quiet in this thread...

.... none of the usual people screaming about the evul gubmit!

It must be hard to defend this guy. I mean, all the right wing heroes lately have turned out to be disappointing. The Gandhi-like woman beater that is George Zimmerman is nowhere to be seen. Rubio has dropped off the radar. Glenn Beck is ... pretending he's still important. The revolution leaders all seem to fizzle out and turn into embarrassment.

    I love the irony.

Alright, I think it's time for the government to crack down on the right-wing hippies before the law abiding citizens get hurt from the "freedom brigade."

Unfortunately most of the keystone xl supporters and those similar to them don't give two ****s about property rights. What is also unfortunate is those who claim to care about property rights stop caring about property rights the moment big oil or big business sticks their butt cheeks in the air to be smooched, regardless if big oil or big business is American or foreign owned.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

In all seriousness, if they stopped me, I would shoot them. I call on all residents so affected in that area to likewise take up arms and respell these 'militia'.

The cowboys and Indians are fighting on the same side.......

Cowboys and Indians stage a feisty Keystone XL protest | Grist

Their land is getting confiscated and the government hasn't even approved the project yet. So why aren't the militias there protecting those ranchers that actually have a legit grievance instead of holing up with a free loading thief?

    This stinks to high heaven.

Native Americans say that the State Department has failed to consult them about the risks of running the pipeline near their lands and holy places such as burial grounds. And in Canada, First Nations near the tar sands in Alberta oppose the exploitation of the area, citing local health and environmental hazards.

Ranchers, meanwhile, are having their land confiscated under eminent domain in order to get the pipeline built. The cowboys and Indians have come together, Thomas-Muller told Grist, because “rural landowners are being treated like Native Americans.” That is to say, their land is being stolen and despoiled...."

God I hope the Guard is called up over this. Please dear God put Bundy's 'militia' in my sights, I'm a damn good shot.
