Nope, it doesn't seem you do. But that is, again, another issue altogether.

No, abuse anywhere is all of our business. Can't you see the need for adults to be adults?

Okay so I was off base on that. I was quoting the number of people who have had homosexual experiences in their lifetime and not people who identify as LGBT.

    Regardless, the number doesn't matter.

Ans it isn't just your state. I'm a North Carolinian and we have some of the same ideological ignorance in our State House.

I'm also a Republican and have been all my life. I'm what could be called a Goldwater Republican. I'm trying to open peoples eyes and hearts from within. There are a lot of GOPers like me, although you wouldn't know it by watching TV news or reading the newspapers. The problem is that the Religious Right has gained a lot of power, both within the party and in politics as whole. As a Christian, I disagree with these peoples interpretation of the Bible. Especially those parts they use to excuse and justify hate. Jesus didn't hate anyone, but some of his so called followers damn sure do and do so in His name.
I am going to go out on a limb, the bible teaches love it also teaches homosexuality is wrong. God loathes the act of homosexuality so much he destroyed sodom and gomarrah over it.

I would say God would not condone teaching homosexuality either.

homosexuality should not be taught in ANY school system.

#1. God doesn't dictate what's taught in our schools. Our schools are secular institutions by virtue of our Constitution. That is an inarguable fact.

#2. Talking about a subject in an open forum isn't teaching someone homosexuality. They aren't telling these kids to be gay or that they are wrong for having religious beliefs that say being gay is a sin. These students would have been able to be as vocal as they wanted about their view of homosexuality and learning to support your views in discussion is what the class they were in was about.

But you are more than entitled to your opinion on the subject and I respect your right to view things that way.
