BLM document reveals big change

Patriotism is the love of one's country, not the love of government. Statists tend to muddle the two.
Especially the administration that first passed the Patriot Act.
Who are your statists, since you're accusing ?

Should be obvious, even to you. Anyone who puts their love of government over their love of country.

I don't believe anyone in the USA loves their government more than their country.
In fact, this is just more false equivalency from the crowd that wants to claim the Patriot card .

Who is claiming the Patriot card?

No, this is about bureaucrats in the BLM speculating whether to make a recommendation that the President exercise a power that he already has.

On a scale of 1 to 10, this particular conspiracy theory gets a -3.

Baloney, the way the BLM is using federal lands is unconstitutional period. Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17 of the Constitution.

The clause, known as the Enclave Clause, authorizes Congress to purchase, own and control land in a state under specific and limited conditions, namely “for the erection of forts, magazines, arsenals, dockyards, and other needful buildings,” and not, as the feds now insist, to protect an endangered tortoise or any other whim they may have.

The Founders were opposed to providing a centralized federal government with unlimited authority to purchase and, as is routinely the case today, seize state and private land. For your convenience I have provided the wording from our Constitution.
To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of Particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings;--

Has he been charged with any crimes??

To my knowledge, no. That doesn't mean he's not stealing. He's been using government property with absolutely no intention of paying for it. That's theft for all practical purposes.

You've misinterpreted the text. Clause 17 gives Congress control of certain parcels of land acquired for certain purposes but nowhere prohibits acquisition for other reasons.

I haven't misinterpreted anything and Madison's Federalist Paper #45 proves so. I suggest you give it a read. The purpose of the Constitution is to divide the power between the federal and the state to insure the protection of individuals and their rights, not the protection of tortoises, spotted owls, frogs or any other environmental whim of special interest groups or for political favors. What is going on with federal land grabs is the result of not adhering to our laws and allowing an Authoritarian federal government to exist and it needs to stop.

Hmmmmm... secret document?... only obtained by some obscure news channel? Reveals power grab by the white house?
I detect the strong odor of BS...

Of coursw you do. Obama could call a press conference, admit to eveything and you would claim he's being intimidated by the Republicans, because they're all racist, sexists and homophobes.

Should we be at all surprised that you're not convinced?

Let me know when he's charged. Until then your whining is pointless.

The Federalist is a sales brochure. It was written to convince the citizens of New York to ratify the Constitution. Like all sales brochures it's full of puffery and exaggerations. It no more proves the meaning of the Constitution than a Ford brochure proves anything about a Chevrolet.

The purpose of the Constitution is to divide the power between the federal and the state to insure the protection of individuals and their rights, not the protection of tortoises, spotted owls, frogs or any other environmental whim of special interest groups or for political favors. The Constitution says little or nothing about individual rights because that was not its purposes. It sets-up a government to, among other things, provide for the general welfare. If the general welfare is thought to include tortoises, owls and frogs they can be protected.
