Armed guards surround Bundy, supporters fear imminent threat[W:208]

Re: Armed guards surround Bundy, supporters fear imminent threat

If that's the case it's a thought experiment that went terribly awry. Perhaps you should leave these 'experiments' of yours to the professionals.

Yeah, I thought you'd quickly resort to insults. Oh well, it was worth a try. Next, please.

Please find another thread for your 'thought experiments'.

You people act like this is Medevel Europe! :lamo

Your hero George Soros owes a billion dollars in Federal income taxes and you want Bundy locked up for delinquent grazing fees? :lamo x 4

So only enforce the law when and where you wish it to be. Nice philosophy.

Your little desert welfare rancher went to court. He lost. He's gone through the system and he keeps stealing... and that makes him a right-wing hero. No surprise here.

apdst also hasn't provided any citation for the claim that Soros owes a billion in back taxes, which I find extremely hard to believe.

Re: Armed guards surround Bundy, supporters fear imminent threat

You know the Feds lost money on this deal. Right? :lamo

Federal officers are paid salaries, and considered to be on duty 24/7.

A cattle wrangler earns approximately $30,000 a year.

Now prove the feds lost anything. You been attempting to derail these Bundy threads for the past few days now, it's time for you to present some proof to your pudding.

Same here. I'm baffled that he hasn't provided any proof of his claims. I'll wait with bated breath.

Bring your dinner and breakfast, it might take awhile.

Re: Armed guards surround Bundy, supporters fear imminent threat

A thought experiment: How would Fox "News" react to this situation if the armed men were black?

If you can answer that question calmly and without emotion, mad props to you, because many whites would not.

Well in that B.S. disinformation bubble it's only terrorists if the armed men are wearing turbans when they aim their weapons at federal officials.

If you want to know how THE right wing hero reacts to blacks with guns... Just look up the Mulford Act.

...the Mulford Act enacted in 1967 under Ronald Reagan during his period as Governor of California. This act effectively restricted citizens from carrying guns in public and created one of the countries most strict gun control regulations. This was a direct reaction to the Black Panther Movement’s rise in California and in the 1960s,

That's interesting. Are you now using "welfare" in a derogatory manner?

Im simply using it in the tone that conservatives understand. I.E. as derogatory in manner.

I have seen that line of helicopters before. What is hte soruce for those pics?

Google images....Although these may not be the exact helicopters used, the reports were that up to 8 helicopters were being used to first disorient the herd, then later to round them up as the government moved to the process of stealing them....I suspect that the actual copters used were closer to the other pic, used by private contractors ... In any case, the other pics of government force at the scene are real...

So, I suppose that now that you can dismiss one pic, you'll dismiss all, and stick with the lie that Bundy showed force first, right? Pfft.....

It does help with creditablity if you claim pic are from the standoff and they really are. Actually, I just thought I had seen that pic before is the only reason I brought it up. I pretty much think the guy is a deadbeat anyway.

Of course you do....That is the derogatory line of the progressive trash cheering the use of this sort of force against their own citizen neighbors over something as stupid as some fees....As for the pics, the one above it, is on the spot, and above and below that are also on site....So, on the whole the pics are accurate.

The BLM evidently thought they needed the show of force because of Bundy's own words

Now a showdown looms, one with a hint of possible violence.

Officials say Bundy and his son are illegally running cattle in the 500,000-acre Gold Butte area, a habitat of the protected desert tortoise. In July, U.S. District Court Judge Lloyd George ruled that if Bundy did not remove his cattle by Aug. 23, they could be seized by the BLM.

That hasn’t happened — yet — and the rancher insists his cattle aren’t going anywhere. He acknowledges that he keeps firearms at his ranch and has vowed to “do whatever it takes” to defend his animals from seizure.

“I’ve got to protect my property,” Bundy said as Arden steered several cattle inside an elongated pen. “If people come to monkey with what’s mine, I’ll call the county sheriff. If that don’t work, I’ll gather my friends and kids and we’ll try to stop it. I abide by all state laws. But I abide by almost zero federal laws.”

Interesting take on the situation by the local sheriff
Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie visited the rancher last year but has resisted enforcing federal deadlines, declining to put his deputies in danger over a herd of cattle. Gillespie called Bundy in September with the names of a few lawyers to contact.
Looks like Sheriff Gillespie thought Mr Bundy was a dangerous person.

As others have noted, for an overbearing oppressive federal government agency, the BLM seems to have been extremely patient and careful about moving against Mr Bundy.

Yes, a dangerous person....God forbid anyone should want to protect their property when the Sheriff, whom is tasked with that job, refuses to do it....So, if I get what you are saying here, We no longer have property rights?

This is funny considering what Bundy said the very next day. Sometimes our words show up to embarrass us.

The next day, yes, but the left jumped the guns a little. This is all beside the point. This is not about Bundy. It is about the overuse of government power, SWAT Teams and inappropriate response.

Better pay your taxes on time or a SWAT Team may arrive on your doorstep at 3am.
