Four women have had new vaginas grown in the laboratory and implanted by doctors in the US.

A tissue sample and a biodegradable scaffold were used to grow vaginas in the right size and shape for each woman as well as being a tissue match.

They all reported normal levels of "desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction" and painless intercourse.

Experts said the study, published in the Lancet, was the latest example of the power of regenerative medicine.

Science is scary sometimes. We can grow vaginas now, perhaps in the same fashion we grow corn....maybe I could drive by a field and see rows of vaginas.

But seriously? We can grow a vagina in a lab now? This changes everything.

edit- Like I thought that the 'fleshlight' plastic vaginas were a step in the right direction but I have been waiting for the technology to like mature and develop.

So now we can grow a vagina? That is so awesome. When will this be ready for market? I want to buy some vaginas. They dont need a body do they? And if they do we can grow them too right? Who cares if Dolly the sheep died after a few years? An Amanda Seyfried clone cant last forever. How long do people keep a car? You are not going to keep a new clone forever. If they can last a few years that is good enough.

Im am genuinely very happy about this news.

There would be no need for pregnancy anymore and abortion would be the question of flicking a switch. It is a brave new world. Cool.

You can see rows of vaginas, but not in rural areas for the most part. Try your local red light district.

As long as they are vaginas and only vaginas,I think the farmers will probably be o.k.


The bible warns us of the abomination of planting mixed crops right there in Leviticus 19:19, however, so let's all hope they never submit to the temptation of adding a row or two of penises to increase profit margin.

The implications of this are great for someone who finds the vagina attractive, but often finds the women attached to them to be crazy.

My thoughts were on the implications for things like Ovarian cancer and sex reassignment surgery. This is just another piece in what has been an avalanche of exciting news from the world of bio-technology.

I for one am against this because it is unnatural. I demand we cease this immediately and begin growing vaginas the old fashion way and as "God" wrote in the bible - using penises and other vaginas. This is an abomination. SAY NO TO GM VAGINAS!
 
Not sure how I feel about this? I love scientific progress, but I didn't know there was a need for artificially grown vaginas? Did I miss something in regards to a demand for this? What do you do with your old one? Can it be recycled? ;)

I don't get it. Of all things, a vagina? :confused: How many people need a "replacement" vagina? Not very many I would imagine.
 
Bad news for women - they replicated the only useful body part you have.

I thought that was tits for you? Those have already been replicated. You could get some of your own even! Now you can have a vagina too! :lamo

BTW, since the vagina is actually "organic," it isn't a toy, it's made for transplants and wouldn't survive without a body probably.

I think the only way it would survive is to be attached to you. Maybe you could put it on your arm or something.

Exactly! And if you are in the condition to need a replacement, are you really going to be in the state of mind to use it? :lol:

Hell with that. How about I just find a woman in a permanent vegetative state. Wouldn't be much different than most of my flings in the past anyway.

I have no idea. I would imagine it's for deformities or cancers, perhaps accidents and things like that.
