It appears from this article that Russians in Ukraine may have something to worry about. If this is the way a so called modern enlightened aspiring European leader talks in private, you have to wonder what goes on everyday now in Ukraine. Just imagine what the right wingers, like Victoria Nuland backed Oleh Tyahnybok must say.

Very interesting!!

Controversy over Ukraine's Tymoshenko 'wipe out Russians' leak

kraine's former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko was plunged into fresh controversy on Tuesday after Russian television broadcast a tape where she is heard urging the "wiping out" of Russians over Moscow's seizure of Crimea.

Tymoshenko, a hugely controversial figure both in Ukraine and Russia who was released from jail last month, confirmed the voice was hers but said some of the comments had been manipulated.

"This really crosses all the boundaries," Tymoshenko is heard to say in the leaked phone call posted on YouTube and broadcast extensively on Russian television Monday.

"One has to take up arms and go wipe out these damn 'katsaps' together with their leader," the voice said in Russian, without mentioning Putin by name.

The word "katsap" is a derogatory Ukrainian term for Russians.

During the conversation, Tymoshenko is said to discuss Russia's seizure of Ukraine's Russian-speaking peninsula of Crimea with Ukrainian MP and former government official Nestor Shufrych.

Tymoshenko, who spent three years in jail on what her supporters say were politically motivated charges of abuse of power before being freed last month, said if she were in power Moscow would not be able to take the peninsula.

"I am sorry that I am not able to be there and am not in charge of these processes, they wouldn't have had a ****ing chance of getting Crimea off me."

"I would have found a way to finish off these bastards," the 53-year-old leader of the 2004 pro-democracy Orange revolution was heard as saying.

"I am hoping that I will use all my connections and will get the whole world to rise up so that not even scorched earth would be left of Russia."

Discussing the fate of Ukraine's eight million ethnic Russians with Shufrych, Tymoshenko was also heard as saying that they should be "nuked"

WOW! Behind those cute looks lies a cold hearted battle axe!!!!

She is a true patriot to her country. Too bad more Americans don't feel that way about the United States.

Actually, I don't blame her a bit. I read about this when it first surfaced. My opinion hasn't changed since i first heard about it. She's a patriot on the side of her country and the preventing Russia from annihilating that country from within and without.

It isn't difficult to sit a few thousand miles away and condemn those that are living this first hand every day.

If a tape of Barack Obama talking on the phone to Jessie Jackson was leaked where Obama was saying I feel like taking a rifle and kicking those honkies out of Crimea, would you say Obama is a patriot?

Victoria Nuland has supported Oleh Tyahnybok. And some would say that he is a Ukrainian patriot. But here's the type of stuff that he has said in public

On July 20, 2004, Tyahnybok was expelled from the Our Ukraine parliamentary faction after he made a speech in the Carpathian Mountains at the gravesite of a commander of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. In the speech, which was aired on television in the summer of 2004, he made comments like:
"[You are the ones] that the Moscow-Jewish mafia ruling Ukraine fears most"
and
"They were not afraid and we should not be afraid. They took their automatic guns on their necks and went into the woods, and fought against the Moskali, Germans, Kikes and other scum who wanted to take away our Ukrainian state."

These are the kinds of "patriots" that we are supporting in Ukraine? WOW!!!!

The more one learns about what's going on in Ukraine, the more interesting it get's. Here's an interesting piece by an investigative journalist. I honestly can't say I know all of this to be actual fact, but still, I feel it is noteworthy. If anyone could shed further light on this, it would be nice.

CIA‘s Use of Nazi Strategy on Ukrainian Right-Wing Nationalists Unabated since Cold War

Wayne MADSEN

The Central Intelligence Agency appears to be caught in a time warp. At the roots of the CIA’s and George Soros’s «resistance» movement in Ukraine lie Ukrainian fascists and pro-Nazis, the ideological forbears of the current Ukrainian right-wing fascist party Svoboda and other radical right and anti-Russian groups largely based in western Ukraine.

A CIA document from August 1950 reveals that at the onset of the Cold War, U.S. intelligence exploited Nazi intelligence and strategy employed on various Ukrainian nationalist groups during World War II. This intelligence on Ukraine was captured by the pre-CIA Office of Strategic Services (OSS) from Nazi intelligence in the waning days of World War II. The revelation about the CIA’s use of Nazi intelligence on Ukraine is significant in light of present U.S. government support for anti-Russian Ukrainian nationalist groups, many of which are neo-Nazi and fascist in orientation.

During World War II, the Nazis supported a number of Ukrainian nationalist groups against the Soviet Union. After the war, these groups began receiving support from the CIA in an underground resistance movement against the Soviet Union, particularly in western Ukraine.

The Nazi intelligence report found in CIA archives is titled "Die national-ukrainische Widerstandssbewegung" or "Ukrainian national resistance." The CIA stamped the report CONFIDENTIAL.

Many of the Ukrainian groups listed in the Nazi-generated CIA report were part of the so-called "Captive Nations" movement centered in Washington that sought to mobilize nationalist partisans against the Soviet Union in post-World War II central and eastern Europe. Many of the ideological forbears of the current Ukrainian opposition to President Viktor Yanukovych hail from these Cold War ranks.

Among the Ukrainian groups identified by the Nazis as potential allies of the CIA was the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN). One of the inheritors of the OUN's political dogma is the far right-wing neo-Nazi Svoboda movement of Oleh Tyahnybok.

Tyahnybok has been a frequent guest of U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt, who is Jewish and an ardent Zionist who has spent an inordinate amount of time attending Holocaust remembrance events in Ukraine since taking up his post. Tyahnybok has also been mentioned along with opposition leaders Vitali Klitschko, an ex-boxer, and Arseniy Yatsenyuk as a potential member of a post-Yanukovych government that will take its orders from Washington and the European Union.

Other Ukrainian groups identified by the Nazis and embraced by the CIA include the Sluzhba Bezopasnosti or Security Service of the OUN, the Bandera Group, the Mel'nik Group, Taras Bulba (Borovets) Partisan Unit in Galicia, Ukrainian Revolutionary Army of Western Ukraine and Galicia (the Red and Black flag of which has been reintroduced by George Soros-financed groups during the current protests in Ukraine), the Hetman Movement, the Union for the Liberation of Ukraine (which was based in Paris), and the Ukrainian National Cossack Movement (which was based in Berlin). The leader of the pro-Nazi Union for the Liberation of Ukraine in Paris was named Levitsky, a Ukrainian Jew.

The Nazi intelligence document also points out that many Ukrainian nationalists, some of whom were to later join the ranks of the CIA, were trained in the "camps of the German army and police in Cracow, Neuhammer, Brandenburg, and Frankfurt-Oder" and were later "assigned to the east for partisan warfare."

The liaison between British intelligence and the Ukrainian Cossack Liberation Movement was known as "Markotun." The Gestapo identified Markotun as a leading Freemason.

The CIA also made use of Gestapo intelligence on Freemasonry in eastern and central Europe in order to establish links with prospective anti-Soviet and anti-Communist underground figures. The CIA discovered that during World War II and thereafter, Freemasons eluded capture by speaking to one another via a special telephone code, particularly in Romania. The CIA, according to a May 12, 1952 information report, was informed that Romanian members of the Grand Conseil Masonic Lodge were prepared to conduct sabotage against Romanian government and Soviet targets in the country.

The prime architect of CIA sabotage and other covert operations against nations of eastern and central Europe was Dr. Lev Dobriansky, a Ukrainian expatriate and the father of the co-called «Captive Nations» movement. Dobriansky and his right-wing allies, particularly those of the American Security Council of which Dobriansky was an officer, rallied right-wing Ukrainians in exile against the Soviet Union. The American Security Council had deep pockets from which to finance Ukrainian saboteurs since its members included executives of U.S. Steel, Motorola, General Electric, American Zinc, and Eversharp. Dobriansky’s and his colleagues’ propaganda was regularly heard in the 1960s on the airwaves of WMAL-AM radio in Washington, DC and its leadership maintained close links with the CIA under its director, Admiral William F. Raborn, Jr.

Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev mocked the activities of the Ukrainian-American exiles and their CIA and U.S. congressional patrons in 1960. Khrushchev asked, «How would America and the Americans have felt if the Parliament of Mexico had, for instance, passed a . . . resolution demanding that Texas, Arizona, and California be liberated from American slavery?»

The CIA’s close cooperation with Ukrainian and other far right political groups was a personal pet project of Richard Helms, the agency’s deputy director and director. Helms testified before Congress that among the CIA’s exile groups were «fine intelligent sources which exist and are developed» through immigrant groups from Ukraine, the Baltics, and other countries. The Assembly of Captive European Nations (ACEN) included a number of right-wingers on the CIA’s payroll, including ACEN chairman Vaclovas Sidzikauskas of Lithuania, vice chairman Stefan Korbonski of Poland, George M. Dimitrov of Bulgaria, Josef Lettrich of Czechoslovakia, Ferenc Nagy of Hungary, and Dr. Dobriansky, representing his native Ukraine. In addition to maintaining liaison with the Republican and Democratic parties in the United States, ACEN had ties with the American Independence Party of 1968 presidential candidate George Wallace and extreme right-wing vice presidential candidate retired General Curtis LeMay. It appears that Oleh Tyahnybok embrace a rather interesting ideology. What in the hell are we doing messing around with such people in the Ukraine? If the Europeans want to do this type of stuff, let them do it. We should leave such a turbulent, unstable place alone.

Euromaidan: The Dark Shadows Of The Far-Right In Ukraine Protests

The violent anti-government street protests that have rocked the Eastern European nation of Ukraine include a smorgasbord of opposition groups and dissenters who strongly object to the rule of President Viktor Yanukovych and the purported influence of Russian leader Vladimir Putin on the nation’s affairs. Clashes between rioters and police have already killed at least 25 people and wounded more than 250.

The most controversial element of the anti-government alliance is Svoboda (Freedom), an extreme right-wing political party that not only has representation in parliament, but has been dubbed by its critics as a neo-Nazi organization. Britain’s Channel 4 News reported that Svoboda has assumed a “leading role” in the street protests in Kiev, with affiliated paramilitary groups prominently involved in the disturbances. Svoboda flags and banners have been featured in the demonstrations at Kiev’s Independence Square. During the continuing street riots, one Svoboda MP, Igor Myroshnychenko, created an iconic moment of sorts when he allegedly helped to topple the statue of Vladimir Lenin outside a government building, followed by its occupation by protesters.

However, despite its extremist rhetoric, Svoboda cannot be called a "fringe" party – indeed, it currently occupies 36 seats in the 450-member Ukrainian parliament, granting it status as the fourth-largest party in the country. Further, Svoboda is linked to other far-right groups across Europe through its membership in the Alliance of European National Movements, which includes the British National Party (BNP) of the United Kingdom and Jobbik, the neo-fascist, anti-Semitic and anti-Roma party of Hungary. [size=2=The leader of Svoboda, Oleh Tyahnybok, who has appeared at the Kiev protests, has a long history of making inflammatory anti-Semitic statements, including the accusation during a 2004 speech before parliament that Ukraine is controlled by a “Muscovite-Jewish mafia.” Miroshnychenko also called the Ukrainian-born American film actress Mila Kunis a “dirty Jewess.”

Tyahnybok has also claimed that “organized Jewry” dominate Ukrainian media and government, have enriched themselves through criminal activities and plan to engineer a “genocide” upon the Christian Ukrainian population. Another top Svoboda member, Yuriy Mykhalchyshyn, a deputy in parliament, often quotes Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels, as well as other Third Reich luminaries like Ernst Rohm and Gregor Strasser.[/size]

...................................

Among other things, Svoboda seeks to end all immigration and ensure that all civil service jobs are filled by ethnic Ukrainians. The Nation, a leftist American publication, reported that Svoboda also seeks to ban abortions, abolish gun control, “ban the Communist ideology,” and prohibit the adoption of Ukrainian children by foreigners. In addition, Svoboda reportedly supports nuclear power (in the homeland of Chernobyl) and reinstatement of the death penalty.

............................

Svoboda glorifies fascist figures and related slogans from Ukraine’s past – on New Year’s Day, 15,000 Svoboda members and their followers marched in honor of controversial Ukrainian nationalist leader Stepan Bandera, who fought against the Soviets during the Second World War and had ties to Nazi Germany. His Ukrainian Insurgent Army allegedly took part in the massacre of thousands of Ukrainian Jews and Poles. Tyahnybok has repeatedly sought inspiration from Ukrainian insurgents who fought in World War II. “They did not fear, but took up their automatic rifles, going into the woods to fight Muscovites, Germans, Jewry and other filth which wanted to take away our Ukrainian nationhood. It’s time to give Ukraine to the Ukrainians,” he said.

...........................................

Svoboda also assails nonwhites. In February, Yuriy Syrotiuk, a Svoboda spokesman, expressed his unhappiness that Gaitana-Lurdes Essami, a half-Ukrainian, half-Congolese singer, represented Ukraine in the Eurovision music contest, citing that she “is not an organic representative of the Ukrainian culture.” Moreover, Svoboda expresses extreme hostility towards homosexuals – party members once attacked and sprayed tear gas at the participants of a gay rights rally in the capital Kiev.

Separately, the integrity and retention of Ukrainian language and culture also represents a pillar of Svoboda’s ideology. Alarmed by the expanding use of the Russian tongue in public and government, the party has advocated for the banning of the foreign language. Among other measures, Svoboda demands that all parliamentarians speak Ukrainian instead of Russian. The Svoboda party has also opposed the renaming of streets in the country to Russian-friendly titles. Indeed, Moscow appears to draw the most opprobrium from Svoboda, which alleges Russia is still suppressing the Ukraine and frustrating its integration with the European Union.

Here's a video of the conversation

Well, looks like we are going to support a rich, corrupt woman, who may have said she wants to nuke the 8 million Russians in the Ukraine, for the sake of the EU and boxiing in Russia.WOW!!! Amazing!!!

Looks like she is running for president. And guess what, Victoria Nuland's old pal "Klitcsh" made the announcement! WOW!!!!

Former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko confirms the intention to run for presidency, she has told her first press conference.

"I'm planning to stand in the presidential election," were her first words.

She also says on March 29 she will officially turn to the Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Association party with request to nominate her candidacy to the post of head of state.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Vitali Klitschko, leader of the UDAR (Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reforms) party announced Tymoshenko's intention to run for president.

The Neo Nazis of the Ukraine. Man, what did we get into here.

From video: "Those who like Russia, let them move to Russia. Ukraine is for Ukrainians." Sounds reasonable to me. I don't see anything "neo-Nazi" about that whatsoever.

I guess you missed the a little bit like Hitler stuff. Over and above that, Crimea was given to Ukraine by Khrushchev in 1954. Since you say Ukraine is for Ukrainians, shouldn't Crimea, with it's majority Russian population, that was given to Ukraine, now be given to Russia?

No. It has a majority "ethnic" Russian population of only 54%. This is because of mass deportation and genocide of non-ethnic Russians. Second, you got no business talking about opposition to Nazism since your view is that people SHOULD be divided up singularly along ethnic lines in pure ethnic segregation.

Tell me, in your opinion since its your point, what is an "ethnic Russian?" When did "Russian" become an ethnicity?

What he said is those who like Russia should move to Russia because Ukraine is for Ukranians. HE made NO reference to race. BUT, to ETHNIC AND RACIAL SEGREGATIONISTS LIKE YOU it isn't about nationality at all, ONLY about "ethnicity."

What state do you want "ethnic Italians" to be relocated to in the USA? What about Latinos? Since you support ethnic segregation - which Putin has already announced he is going to follow Stalin's plan and wipe out Tartar Muslims in Crimea - which is originally their territory since you like to talk about history - draw up a map of how you want the USA divided up into various ethnic sectors?

Ukrainians have generations of reasons to hate Russia. So do native Crimeans. That Russia militarily seized and cruelly subjugated Ukrainians and Crimeans in the past doesn't make it rightly the property of Russia - though you seem to believe also in the legitimacy of gaining territory by mass exterminations, death camps and deportation to slave labor camps.

Granted, Putin wants to create you racially and ethnically segregated world. The "Nazi" view seems to be yours.

You do know they mean White, non-Jewish Ukrainians, don't you?

Every leader of every Jewish group in the Ukraine signed a letter opposing Russia's action in Crimea.

It is Russia that has caused the rise in militant nationalism and created the chaos.

You do know they mean White, non-Jewish Ukrainians, don't you?

Putin is no friend of Jews and your hatred of Muslims is noted. No one in Ukraine was trying to forcible "relocate" Jews out of Ukraine. Putin is forcibly removing Muslims from Crimea.

I don't know what is causing your hallucinations, but I'd get it checked if I were you. Otherwise you are a LIAR, big-time. Provide any link, anywhere that indicates a hatred of Muslims by me. It can't be done, but I know from your posts of your ethnicity and you are one that the NeoNazis want to eliminate. Wake up.

In the video, what is said is that they want Ukraine to be for Ukrainians. If anyone wants to be a Russian, go to Russia. There is nothing about ethnicity in that.

There is not such thing as "ethnic Russians." There are people who speak Russian. A language does not make an ethnicity. But it does to Putin and apparently to you too.

It is Putin that is into ethnicity, declaring he is going to "relocate" ethnic Tartar Muslims. The Ukraine government was allowing Tartar Muslims to return to the land stolen from them by Stalin (and many of their relatives murdered by Stalin).

You have no problem with that, despite that meaning the removal of over 100,000 Muslims sent off to Siberian (again) or where-ever. Putin is a hero in your book by your messages.

Well that was quite a bit of running without any traction. First of all according to the 2001 Ukrainian census, around 60 percent of Crimea was Russian.

There is one of two things going on here. Either you are deliberately creating a deception by trying to mask your own assertion that it's reasonable that Ukraine is for Ukrainians, or you are inadvertently projecting your Nazi like, segregationist sentiment onto me, to relieve your self of the pressure of your own lack of satisfaction with yourself. Either way, the point is that you are the one who put forward the notion that the position of the person in that video that Ukraine is for Ukrainians is reasonable. My point is that if you feel that way, then a logical result of that would be that Crimea should be returned to Russia, since the majority, 60 percent, of the people there are Russian and it was given to the Ukraine as a gift by the Soviet leadership in Moscow. You can talk about how the Russians treated the native people of Crimea, but I would point out that Crimea was a part of Russia long before the last native Americans were brutally killed and kicked off of their land by people of Europe or of European descent. So if you feel that way, do you feel that the native Americans should be given their land back and the Europeans should go back to Europe?

BTW, my ancestors were brought here as slaves from Africa. I would be satisfied with 40 acres of my choosing and a mule as compensation. I want my 40 acres right smack in the middle of Manhattan!!!

Germany accused Tymoshenko of engaging in violent fantasies that crossed the line.

Gulf Times - Tymoshenko

Tymoshenko’s 'violent fantasies' cross the line, says Germany

Germany said yesterday that Ukraine’s former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko had crossed a line with leaked comments in which she is heard urging the “wiping out” of Russians.

Chancellor Angela Merkel’s spokesman Steffen Seibert said Ukraine’s political leadership must reject “violent fantasies” and strive for stability and inclusion of minorities.

“Despite all opposition to Russian actions in Crimea and all differences of opinion, even fundamental ones, there are of course lines in speech and thought that must not be crossed, and violent images, violent fantasies lie far beyond those lines,” he told reporters.

He said the Ukrainian government must serve “all parts of the population and all regions”.

“Stabilisation of the country and reconciliation are crucial, and that is what the German government with its international partners wants to foster on the way to free and fair elections at the end of May,” Seibert said, adding: “Escalation must be avoided on that path.”

Tymoshenko, a highly controversial figure in both Ukraine and Russia who was released from jail last month, is heard on the tape saying: “One has to take up arms and go wipe out these damn ‘katsaps’ together with their leader.”

The word “katsap” is a Ukrainian slur against Russians.

Tymoshenko, the 53-year-old leader of the 2004 pro-democracy “Orange Revolution”, confirmed the voice on the recording broadcast by Russian television was hers but said some of the remarks had been manipulated.

During the conversation, Tymoshenko is said to discuss Russia’s seizure of Ukraine’s Russian-speaking peninsula of Crimea with Ukrainian MP and former government official Nestor Shufrych.

Tymoshenko received treatment at a Berlin clinic for severe back pain this month after her release from jail and returned to Kiev last week.

If a tape of Barack Obama talking on the phone to Jessie Jackson was leaked where Obama was saying I feel like taking a rifle and kicking those honkies out of Crimea, would you say Obama is a patriot?

Damn right!

Damn right!

Good one! :lamo

Seriously, that's part of his problem. He just doesn't seem to radiate much passion for some reason. I don't know.

This is the type of activity Oleh Tyahnybok's political party, Svoboda engages in:

If Ukraine does nothing, Russia is going to absorb their entire country before the year is out. Where is your care about the war footing Russia is on? Where is your care of the, on an national scale, mugging of Ukraine by Russia that's happened so far?

Not anticipating the break up of the Soviet Union, Moscow gave Crimea to Ukraine. Prior to that Crimea had been part of Russia for over 100 years. Putin acted to secure Russia's interests in having access to the Black Sea through it's naval base at Sevastopol. Furthermore Putin will do no such thing as absorb all of Ukraine. It would drain Russia's already fragile resources to try to maintain control of the whole of Ukraine, and Putin knows that. So what you have put forward is just not going to happen.
