All anyone has to do is look at post #198 and they will see the comments were directly to MildSteel not DaveFagan. That's no conspiracy theory and can be easily verified. What you posted simply was not true.

Yes, because you came to his aid- he was the one saying that, everything I was saying (that you responded to) was refuting that.

So you agree there wasn't a secret American plot to install this current Ukrainian government? Great, nothing to argue about!

Again not true. I said that Victoria Nuland was substantially involved in the installation of a new prime minister BEFORE DaveFagan began posting in the thread.

Where is your evidence? A baseless claim.

Who is interfering with whom and whose security was threatened?
The thing is this, it becomes a problem when it provokes unnecessary conflict with a major power. They way the whole situation was handled was wrong. Not only that, but you don't see US supported NGOs in Saudi Arabia, which has a more repressive society than Russia. There is a reason for that.
What 'unnecessary conflict' are you referring to? This has nothing to to do with Saudi Arabia.

You mean Victoria "The Cookie Monster" Nuland overthrew the corrupt former leader of the Ukraine? With this on her resume, and her incredible powers of persuasion, she could become the first female US President!

Moving on. Let's see if we can challenge all that intelligence that you have. As I see it, where we stand now is that the US has it's puppet government in Kiev, and Russia is in the process of annexing Crimea. Obviously, the relationship is strained at this point to say the least. So what are some things that the US could do to make things difficult for Russia, without making things difficult for itself. One way would be through Iran. Previously, Russia has leveraged the negative relationship that Iran has with the US to it's advantage. However, now that tensions have risen between the US and Russia, and there appears to be a move towards rapprochement between the US and Iran, perhaps the tables can be turned. If the US were to have favorable relations with Iran, it would put Russia off balance in the Middle East because the leverage they had would be gone. What do you think of that? What suggestions do you have?

Actually, that's not how it went down in Austria. Nor Crimea.

Kurt Schuschnigg, Austria's Chancellor called for a referendum in Jan or Feb of 1938 for a vote later in the year but that was canceled after Austrian Nazi's took power. So we will never truly know if Austrians would have voted to stay independent or not.

Crimea's legislature voted Sergey Aksyonov as PM and he officially asked for Russia's help.
