    Items to discuss

" high levels of economic stratification are linked directly to overconsumption of resources"

under conditions "closely reflecting the reality of the world today... we find that collapse is difficult to avoid."

how do we humans " reduce economic inequality" and also find a way " to dramatically reduce resource consumption "??

work by KPMG and the UK's Government Office for Science shows that resource exploitation could create a "perfect storm" of civilisational-ending crises by 2030.
Since when did Nasa become a bunch of anthropologists?

Do you consult an auto mechanic for what's the best way to grow tomatoes?

Ok, so what makes you think NASA (as an entire agency) knows a damn thing about anthropology?

Also, do you know that you can fit the entire population of the world (7.5 billion people) in a 2-story building 3/4ths the size of Texas?

You see, the truth is that you progressives just hate humanity, industry and economy and will make **** up or jump the gun on just about anything to scare people into living like communal chimps in a rain forest.

I think you and your ilk's position on issues like this is highly ironic considering its technology and industry (which you hate) that allows you to work yourselves up into a tizzy with your catastrophe scenarios, and which allows you to network and spread the bull****.

First - you obviously haven't read thru this thread. I've already posted that the headline is misleading. I don't know why NASA was named as funding this study because I haven't found any citation that it did.

Second - Yeah, on the Maine island where we have a summer home, I would ask the island mechanic "the best way to grow tomatoes" because he and his wife are gardeners who grow incredible tomatoes. So - not a relevant point.

    Third - See first reply

Fourth - So what if the human population could be crammed together in such a space? How is that relevant to the study? Isn't your problem that all efforts to change the rate of increase in the earth's temperature just more proof of governments wanting to control our lives? So what would it take to cram the world's population into one building?

The truth is that most progressives care more for humanity than those who are pushing for reduction in welfare, destroying the food stamp program and promoting science denial in the schools they want to see controlled by for-profit corporations.
“And I have no doubt that every new example will succeed, as every past one has done, in shewing that religion & Govt will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together.”

Who would have thunk, someone here knows an engineer or a physicist that happens to work for NASA with a green thumb.

IMO, I wouldn't grow tomatoes in Maine.

If it were in another section, it could be referring to an orgy or a gang-bang. Maybe he was actually referring to something from that section? /shrug.
Only a fool measures equality by results and not opportunities.
