Our right-wing friends think that if they repeat it often enough, someone will start to believe it, and it'll make their lives easier having such a great 'one-word-fits-all-enemies' tool to use. It seems a bit ironic to me that there's a whole internet body of rules and laws to castigate anyone who equates political behaviour with the Nazis, but similarly over-blown and over-cooked hyperbolic nonsense linking the genocidal activities of Stalin, Saloth Sar, Mao etc with the strain of democratic socialism that survives those monsters, seems to be fair play.

If Bush II behaved like Hitler, does that mean Blair behaved like Stalin? Is either one of these two statements more acceptable or more accurate than the other?

This tiresome North Korea analogy has been used for years by those who feel the need to deny Hitler was a Socialist, when of course he was. In fact he once described himself as a "fanatical socialist".

Hitler was indeed a Socialist and while no self respecting contemporary Socialist would want to identify themselves with Adolf Hitler we should not rewrite history or deny the truth just because of leftist sensibilities.

The only brush I paint people, individuals or collectivists with is with the handle they're holding.

I don't overlook anything, sometimes ideas aren't even worth addressing because they're too preposterous or not even on the same canvass (no pun there).

IMO, Hitler was a dishonest socialist that was nothing more than a totalitarian pig no better than Stalin or any socialist pig but he was stiill a socialist.

Also, you do understand the socialism is an economic model???

Do you know the literal (in English) definition of socialism?

What the **** do you think Hitler was doing when he was seizing resources, commodities and even art and redistributing such wealth to loyal clowns who were alleged Aryans, or better yet non-Jewish Germans??

I have news for you - Hitler was stealing everything and redistributing 10% of the fortune to his idiot cronies - kinda like our federal government, just a lot less severe.

Exactly. Socialism is an economic model in which the state (government) owns the means of production. Nazism is also an extreme authoritarian system.

So, if we're to compare modern day socialists to Nazis, then let's by all means compare all authoritarian positions with Nazism as well: war on drugs, gay marriage, abortion, whatever the authoritarian backed issues of the day may be.

The F-22 is an overpriced joke. It can be tracked w/50s - 60s era radar.

Any flying object that's made of metal can be tracked w/radar of sufficiently long wavelength and intensity.

Modern socialists/communists are pseudo-capitalists and totalitarians...

They're a new breed, which is why the attempted to call themselves "New Democrats" and which is why they continue to change the definition of words like "climate change" and "global warming."

I suppose it's difficult to define a party that continually "progresses" or changes every 2-seconds due to the fact they're running away from denial.

Nothing interesting about those ideas...... Both Russia and China are pseudo-capitalist nations. Their governments are just authoritarian. They kill two birds with one stone. They get quasi social obedience and they steal all the money.

Both nations are like Chicago under Capone, or the mafia in general.

China is an example of a highly authoritarian government that has discovered the practicality of capitalism and is experiencing unprecedented economic growth as a result of that discovery. It is proof that capitalism does not necessarily mean liberty.
