You said "I suppose this was last year's parade." Was that in fact a group of gay vets participating in either the New York or Boston St. Patrick's Day parade, or are you just making **** up?
I'm already gearing up for Finger Vote 2014.

Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.

Myself, I would expect to see a lot of Fire and Police Personnel in the Parades.....at least its that way around here. Be interesting to see like a video of Footage of the Parades in all different parts of the country. As well as to note who is about the Political activism with such events.

Course with the Italians and Sicilians. St Josephs Day is round.....but I didn't hear all this hoopla over that day either.
Hiya MMC! As I understand it, Dallas' parade got a rep for not being family friendly in the past and most of that was due to raunchy displays by some in the gay community. Not activists, partiers. Theres been an effort to clean it up and I noticed this year it was advertised as family friendly, so it must be working.

For about the 10th yr in a row, I didn't go.

It wholly inappropriate in civil society to broadcast or advertise sexual matters in public. Always has been and well it should be. Our society has become coarsened and offensive. Sexual matters are a private issue and should be kept private. That being said, I favor gays having civil union so they can legally protect personal and estate matters. It's this pushing of abnormal behavior in public and the schools by gay militants that is unacceptable. If they want to force society to accept sexualization in public venues and events, they're gonna have a fight on their hands from millions of people like me. I don't want to see that foul behavior in public and I don't want my kids seeing that stuff in public. And above all else, I don't want it being pushed in the schools. They need history, math, science, penmanship, economics, govt..... not homosexual propaganda.

so do you want to stop any displays of affection in public and enforce dress codes also?

What abnormal behavior is being pushed by schools?

how is society being forced to accept anything?

    what is homosexual propaganda?

Gay rights activists praised Heineken's decision.

"Heineken sent the right message to LGBT youth, customers and employees who simply want to be part of the celebration," Sarah Kate Ellis, president of gay rights group GLAAD, said in a statement.

A Heineken representative told CNBC on Friday: "We believe in equality for all. We are no longer a sponsor of Monday's parade."

In February, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that he would not be marching in this year's parade in support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. Boston Mayor Martin Walsh has vowed not to attend the parade unless LGBT groups are allowed to march openly.....snip~

Seems all it took.....was a Facebook Page of Bars saying they would no longer Serve Sam Adams beer if they didn't pull their support for this St Patty's Day Parade. What are your thoughts upon the matter? Right thing to do or not?
An appropriate response and one I back 100%.

That's because St. Joseph's feast day is not amateur night for partying.

Oh, come on. You see no reason not to identify themselves as gay for the St Patrick's Day parade? I can't see one legitimate reason why that would be done at a St. Patrick's day parade. It has nothing to do with celebrating St. Patrick's Day.

AFAIK its not the state in this case that was denying them. So yeah...apples and oranges.
