This is absolutely insane to me. A parade for St. Patrick's Day, and people are upset that they can't march with banners proclaiming there sexual preferences??? Then why is it a St. Patrick's Day parade at all, shouldn't just be a generic parade if there will be stuff like that?

"If they'd just given in" isn't a valid argument for blaming the breakdown of negotiations on one side when neither side has been named by the people you quoted as naming one side.

Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.

Gay veterans were told they couldn't identify themselves as gay while marching in a parade organized by a veteran's group.

What? It is a St. Patrick's Day parade still, no? Still don't see why anyone would expect a banner about their sexuality would be acceptable at a St. Patrick's Day parade. Don't they already have parades with that type of subject matter? Seems to me that their is some other motive involved here, since it is a Catholic Saint involved.

And again, it goes back to the point of them ( The LGBT Activists ) being told they COULD participate.....but then they just had to be different than everybody else. That's what caused Sam Adams and others to pull out.

To validate.....the bar patronized by the LGBT put it up on faceplate/facebook that they would not serve Sam Adams if they participated.

Sam Adams made the announcement after coming under pressure from Club Cafe, a Boston bar patronized by the gay community. The bar threatened in a Facebook post on Thursday to stop pouring Sam Adams unless the company withdrew sponsorship......snip~

One can see what threats like that, could do to their business with how things go viral over the Net.....huh?

My point is that this wasn't some random group of gay folks who were trying to party crash. They too had served their country.

You can't quote someone as saying something they didn't say. That's lying about what they said.

I don't know why I'm bothering. I'll let you get back to fussing about the big bad gays ruining everything for everyone else.

I say AWESOME for the beer companies, thats thier right

as far as the parade id have to know EXACTLY what the verbiage is about the rules

from my understanding it seems that the banner that was banned was a banner that would just identify a gay veterans group, if that was it then IMO banning the sign is absolutely wrong.

If its something else, well that would have to be presented to me and my decision might be different.

Wanna see a bigger joke? That same Club Cafe was the only gay bar in South Boston to serve Russian vodka after the anti-gay laws were put into effect.

Did that company endorse the anti-gay laws or any of the gay-bashing going on in Russia under the guise of family values?
