Is the Republican Party in danger of dying out?

Like I said, the Democrats will throw some interceptions, fumble the ball and the Republicans will be right back in the game. However, over the long run, Republicans have something to worry about, if they don't stick with the ideas of true conservatism, and stop blaming black folks for white folks problems.

I'm not aware of any Repub who blames black folks for white folks' problems.:peace

The notion has been put forward in this thread that some Republicans believe Democrats are taking white peoples money and giving to black people. That's the effects of brainwashing.

2011 White Median Income in US = $55,412

2011 Black Median Income in US = $32,229

There is no doubt that there is a wealth transfer between racial groups going on.

It's a silly topic either way.:peace

One interpretation of those statistics is that the money is going to white people, not black people. If Democrats are taking white people's money and giving it to black people, they don't seem to be doing a good job of it.

The black folks vs white folks thing.:peace

Yeah, but the Republicans use it to get votes. It's a diversion from the fact that rich people are taking all the resources. A very old trick, keep the masses divided and fighting among themselves.

That's easy to fix. Let's just get the Democrats to abandon their racist policies and end their support for wealth transfer, and presto, problem solved.

The wealth transfer is that the rich are getting richer. The thing is this, Republicans can keep trying to make whites who are struggling believe that their problems are due to Democrats taking their money and giving it black people. But that game is running out of steam.

Your problem is that no one is promoting that line.:peace

You can say that, but it has been put forward, in this thread, that some Republicans believe that Democrats are taking white people's money and giving it to black people. Someone has been doing some brainwashing.

If someone puts it forward that Dems want to send everyone making above minimum wage to a reeducation camp, does that make it true or credible?:peace

Just because someone has been made to believe something, doesn't make it true. Of course it's not true, but some have been brainwashed to believe that it is.

Wait, now...let me see if I understand what you are saying...

1. "...it has been put forward, in this thread, that some Republicans believe that Democrats are taking white people's money and giving it to black people..." This being said without any kind of factual support. Just you saying it.

2. The above quote is your reasoning for previously saying this: "Yeah, but the Republicans use it to get votes. It's a diversion from the fact that rich people are taking all the resources. A very old trick, keep the masses divided and fighting among themselves." And this: "The thing is this, Republicans can keep trying to make whites who are struggling believe that their problems are due to Democrats taking their money and giving it black people." And, of course, this: "Someone has been doing some brainwashing."

3. So...somehow...from number one, an unsupported contention of your's, you come up with number two.

Now, I'm no college educated person...I'm not really very smart, you see...but for the life of me, I cannot see how number one and number two contain any logical progression. At all.

If I paint my neighbor's house and he gives me a $1,000 I've earned that money and what I didn't do is transfer it from some stranger across town or across the country.

Transfers only happen when money is taken from one taxpayer and given to another.

You bellyaching about one group EARNING more than another group doesn't mean that there is a wealth transfer going on.

I don't think welfare or whatever counts as income?

Dunno

No it's a fact. Republican strategists have devised code words like "welfare queen" to target anger at blacks, to make it seem like blacks, "welfare queens", are getting white people's money. It's been well documented and is a fact.

Well I'm as dumb as a bag of hammers, but I do read. And what I have said that Republican strategists have deliberately done is true and has been well documented.

I may be stupid, but I know this, Democrats are not taking white people's money and giving it to black people.

Do you really think black people are the only people on welfare? Not only that, but I'm black and I know no one is giving me white people's money. It's garbage.

The reality of American society is that blacks and Hispanics are disproportionately represented in poverty and lower income than whites and Asian. So clearly, the taxes raised from a white family earning $100,000 per year are not being redistributed to a black family earning $100,000 per year. What's going on is that there are more poor blacks than there are poor whites and so these transfers are taking place. This is leaving out all of the other income support programs that the Democrats push which benefit minorities, like preferential hiring into government, like minority business programs.

Oh, I don't know if Democrats are taking white people's money and giving it to blacks and I'm probably not as well read as you are...so, I wonder if you can point me to some of this "well documented" stuff about what Republican strategists have done?

The problem is that it's a distortion because it's income, not race based.

Of course I don't think that.

And the criminal justice system jails people who commit crimes and yet we keep hearing about how the criminal justice system is racist because so many black men are in prison.

People can point to the neutrality of the law, you can point to income being redistributed on the basis of earned income, but the racial effects are there and they're noticed.
