Actually, I think things like simulated anal sex, stroking one's dick through a G-string while riding parade floats, or using butt plug horse tails, is probably a bit heavy on the "in your face" attitude, don't you think?

Perhaps holding such events in a more controlled/restricted environment would do the cause better, rather than closing down public streets, demanding police ignore public decency laws, and forcing everyone to tolerate behavior they should not be forced to tolerate.

If the objective is to say "F you" public, the objective is being met. If the objective is to say, "hey we're just like you", the objective is an complete failure.

No. I never said that. But it is also ludicrous to believe that every woman is exactly like every woman and every man is exactly like every man. I would venture to say that there is probably as much different between Woman A, B, and C....as there is between Woman A and Man E, F and G.

Sorry.....you are buying into the right-wing "Gay Pride Parade" Myth. I have been to several and I have never seen simulated anal sex and stroking of dicks through G-strings. In fact, 90% of the participants in Los Angeles are religious groups, community groups such as Project Angel Food, AidsProject, Support groups, politicians, .....You have a very mistaken belief of what a gay pride parade is. Then again...you live behind the Orange curtain...so I'm not surprised in the least.

The fact that you lied about "one of the biggest parades" is right outside your front door...speaks volumes. Orange County doesn't even have a gay pride parade and hasn't had one for several years. They have a festival, but not a parade.

Neo Nazis, skinheads, and KKK racists march down the street. Guess what, I don't go watch them.

    Dude...don't go to the parades.

Why do you think societies from all around the world that never had any sort of connection what so ever all basically formed the same roles for the sexes? Isn't it odd that happened? Could it be, and it is, that it was innate differences in the sexes that lead to that result? Sure, there was short periods of time people could find where we departed from it, like the genderless society of France for less than a decade, but besides complete and utter failures like that, I think you will find it was the differences in the sexes that made things turn out the way they did. Sure, not everyone is the same, but then again, I never argued that.

To get back to the point, how do you think the sexes complement each other?

It could easily be argued that it had more to do with easy identification of differences between sexual organs and the easy categorization. The history of the world is filled with thousands of examples of the subjugation of women....but that would require taking a look and and understanding History and how history shapes our societies. In other words, I think its much more a result of history than it is of biology.

That said....What in your mind is so different about gay marriages and straight marriages, even if you adopt your "nature of man" views?

He doesn't. In fact, I doubt he has ever seen one. He claims that "One of the biggest parades in the nation is right outside his front door"....but we know from previous posts that the guy lives in Newport Beach (There is no gay pride parade in Newport Beach BTW.....so we know he is being dishonest).

Whether men and woman are more alike that not...or not anything alike, has absoultly no bearing on marriage.

"Do you believe men and women are the same?" Under the law both men and women enjoy the same rights and priviledges.

I knew you would go back to the subjugation of women crap. Not all societies throughout history did such things, and with very little exception all of those societies had more or less the same gender roles. Your doing your best to ignore the obvious, but it's not going to just go away.

Not at all. I just don't view marriage about sexual organs. You obviously put a greater role on that...or perhaps thats all you can fall back on. The reality is, in most marriage, straight or otherwise, sex and sexual organs are among the least important aspects of a marriage. At least in the successful ones. I would venture to say that probably a great many of the marriages that fail are the ones that like you, put too much emphasis on sex and sexual organs...and once the initial excitement wears off, there isn't a foundation to support the marriage.
