Obama warns US will 'isolate' Russia if Putin doesn't pull back in Ukraine

This is good considering that the Ukrainian former president was (or is) in Moscow talking about this problem. The issue is probably about the Russians in Crimea where the Russian army is sent to protect and make sure they have some stability there.

This now sends timing communications. The discussions cannot last forever. What is the verdict?

We don't hate world-police, but the West esp. U.S. has been showing too naïve and simple minded for that job. You often interfere in the exactly wrong direction and only make things worse.

Wouldn't disagree at all but my statement remains the same. Every president has to display patience in the face of situations like this. You don't just rush in banging the drum and expect things to turn out right. I do believe Obama has the capacity to have clear, rational thought, and with that he is the same as Kennedy.

I think the person who originally mentioned the carriers in the Black Sea did so tongue in cheek as a response to a post of mine. A move like that would be asinine both in a political and military sense.

I am confused though how another act of war results in a peaceful settlement. Or was I mistaken about your post? I thought you were offering an alternative to all out warfare.

My apologies if I was mistaken.

Having said that, I doubt anyone wants a full scale war in eastern Europe
