    Obama threatens to

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the time for warnings is over. The article says they are considering what steps to take. Why don't they already KNOW what steps to take? Why are no contingency plans for this in place already? If our intelligence didn't see this coming? Why not?

I blame our intelligence community. We spend billions of dollars to get a heads up on this type action. What happened?

From what Pentagon officials have said Nato military options are few and far between.

    Hello Lord T.
    Thanks for the info.
I'm sure Ukraine will have no problem getting loans from the IMF.

Since the GOPs are playing into Putin's hands ONCE AGAIN, time to isolate their partner Putin.

Sorry, but when GOPs filibuster a bill to help Iraqi Veterans after sending them there in the first place,
Obama needs to realize he's on his own once and for all .

Russia's economic situation isn't very good, and since it's 60 billion in losses on it's markets and only a half trillion in central bank back up, economic sanctions could really hurt Russia. However, Russia is the lynch pin to solving the Syrian crisis and a major player in Iran nuke negotiations. The question is, does the US and EU want to throw both of those ME issues out the window and burn any bridges leading to Moscow over the Ukraine?

I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

Some people actually believe this. Humorous yet depressing at the same time.

We believe it, because the evidence exists.

The events were that have occured were theorized as going to take place.

The change in government has been pushed by the US, and the EU.

That Russia would react negatively to said change in government was expected, which is why it was pushed to occur during the olympics, just as Georgia attacked South Ossetia around the Biejing Olympics (a hope that the Olympics would stop Russia from taking the actions it has

Every rational analyst would have projected that Russia would never accept losing the bases in Crimea, and would have used force to keep them.

The coup was I expect a suprise, and that gave Russia the abilty to use the illegitamate government (non elected government), which is tied with very right wing elements as an excuse to move troops into Crimea in order to protects its bases, and the people there from elements hostile to Russia and ethnic Russians

Check out Right Sector for the Right Wing Elements ( Ukrainian group).

During the Olympics it should have been clear as to what Russias response was going to be, if the government in the Ukraine was changed.

    Now realistically

Given that the Russian response should have been predicted fairly easily, the end result may have been part of the plan. Or policy makers may have been hoping for the best and that Russia would have done nothing. A bad bet

After listening to McCain, Graham, Bolton and Rogers just today, I hear the same war drums as I did during Iraq.
I also heard a few words from GWB in 2001 extolling the virtues of Putin.
How do you view the constant GOP criticism of Obama DURING a crisis and its effect on Putin .

No everyone. I do not want to a nuclear arms race by second tier countries. I don't care really about the Crimea. I do care that it now is impossible to make any nuclear disarmaments treaty/agreement or non-proliferation treaty with any country as they are now known to be nothing but trickery by the major world powers.
