The president will create a new interagency My Brother’s Keeper Task Force headed by Broderick Johnson, the Cabinet secretary and assistant to the president.
Education Secretary Arne Duncan, Attorney General Eric Holder, Labor Secretary Thomas Perez and other senior officials will be personally involved in “My Brother’s Keeper,” according to Jarrett
if someone can tell me how this "task force" is supposed to work other then throwing money at the situation), i'd be fine with it - otherwise this should stay at the state/local level, where it has been making a difference.

I'm constantly AMAZED at the amount of fed'l programs that need not be run from DC. If they want to just fund local/state programs, i'm not even gonna complain about that.
That's the definition of the old "block grants" or what has become known as "new federalism"

Do you know how to read more than one Sentence to a statement? Who else did I say.....I don't see you saying anything about Asians or any others either. Looks like I had to bring you up to date, huh?

Awesome. So when's the program to help young, poverty-stricken white men?

Looks like this is old news being recycled to take the focus off what? The lousy economy? The disaster called Obamacare? IRS? Benghazi? 2014 Midterms?

    Pick one.

Chicago must've stolen the idea from Dallas.

Since I now know you better and understand how you post, I get your discussion of the DEMs.
Many of my OPs aren't perfect either, for non-partisanship.

I would point to what I see as the begining of the 2nd great wave of Philanthropic Endeavors, one hundred years after the first great wave.

On the other hand conservatives are always complaining about the cycle of non-participating fathers in the minority communities, then complain and bitch when someone tries to do something about it. I could understand if you came in and discussed the program not being a good idea, but you're not doing that, you're just doing your usual government bashing.

Now I don't think the program will be very good, in that it seems many of the existing youth programs started whether started by politicians or private entities have proven to be very useful, and instead seem to end up being part of the problem. Even the well intended community service does more to expose trouble children to comrades than to dissuade further criminality.

I should finish by assuring everyone, I have no good ideas as to a solution. I fear that so long as corruption is the basis of humanity, which seems to be true regardless of good intent all our entities seem to have some level of corruption from corporations to unions to government to churches to ...., there is no solution to many of our problems, this being one of them.

Truth be told, it shouldn't be white, black, brown, or red, it should simply be "disadvantaged". I'm wondering now if in fact it is worded that way and the media is just connecting that to a mostly non-white contingent. I'm going to go back as see if this might be so.

The 'Obama Leadership' school in Dallas opened shortly after Obamas election. Much like the Nobel Peace Prize, the accolades were a little premature. Its a cinch these young boys are already better leaders than their school's namesake. How could they be worse?

So? The solution to what conservatives are complaining about isn't to create a government racial exclusionary program. Conservatives complain about the same issues with all poor, inner city youth - color is not the driving factor, it's environmental. This is wrong, and frankly racist.
