Never said they were exclusively "Whites only" organizations. However, there can be no denying that access to the aforementioned organizations had long been afforded to Whites long before Blacks were accepted. That was my point which clearly eluded you.

If you honestly believe what you've posted above given the objective of the program, why are you so opposed to it?

So they do, they incur outrageous amounts of debt to do so, get out and can't find a job that pays more than $12/hr because the reality is that the $60K they paid for a bachelors was only worth $4 hour more than a high school education. So I fear the same thing will happen here. They may get "proper" life instruction, but upon application, real life will hit them in the face and they'll find that the "old" ways were more effective in assuring their overall financial and personal "value".

I personally know a man right now, 56 yo, white, jewish, struggling everyday not to commit suicide because he did everything right, and yet can't find a job to save his ass. His savings is long gone, his unemployment insurance ended, and because there are grads in his field who have no choice but to work for $12 an hour have squeezed him right out of the market. Working at Walmart won't come close to paying his bills so he's going to give up. He's got the date all planned.

Now if the economy is hitting this man who was never previously unemployed, had the education, the proper values taught to him, and lived a period of his life with those choices having paid off, is now at his wits end because it's all gone and it's turned out to be all lies....

I don't see how we're going to be able to keep young men or women of any color, who have seen the "success" of the wrong way of life, remaining willing to embrace the "failures" of the right way of life.
What you've arguing isn't online with individual responsibility. You're arguing a lack of upward mobility from within the workforce...that myth of "hiring from within" for those employees who do work hard, are passionate about their work, who remain loyal and dedicated and aren't rewarded with a promotion but instead are led to believe they're lucky to either be receiving a raise or to even have a job. This is what most blue collar and some white collar workers 45 yr of age and older are being told - the folks who make up a large portion of the middle-class many of which are being forced out of the labor force such as the guy you described. It's not about going back to "the old ways." It's about companies valuing profits over people.

You've entirely misunderstood. When discussing "old" ways in paragraph one, I was referring the the previous lifestyles of impoverished youth: crime and providers of black market products for "sinners".

The gentlemen of 54 is brought into the discussion to show that if even a middle-aged, white, educated, make-all-the-right choices male is at his wits end due to the no longer reasonable expectation that making the right choices will assure a fair and reasonable life and old-age, then why would anyone be telling our youth what is turning out to be a huge lie.

And the end point we are both making is the same, why would anyone seeing the collapse of the middle class, who've tried to do everything right, suggest that personal choice is the only thing holding back the impoverished youth of our country. It's the oligarchy, the corporatism, the inequality of opportunity and equity, and even if/when all those impoverished youth make better choices, they are only going to find that they were lied to. Making better choices is proving to not be all it's cracked up to be in the long run.

As long as the lack of a family structure smothers the blacks they will continue to be lost. They have very little hope and will always be less than what they could be and no ra-ra speech will change them. Shameful as it is to think the first black president says "I used to get high" when if he was a man he could be saying "the temptation was everywhere but I drew strength from within as a proud young black man and resisted". They are truly in grave danger.
The past three presidents got high as kids. This is nothing new.

That's my thoughts. This is about.... 5 years wanting, for this administration. but better late than never and I hope that it doesn't follow the typical success pattern of this kind of government program.

Now I don't think the program will be very good, in that it seems many of the existing youth programs started whether started by politicians or private entities have proven to be very useful, and instead seem to end up being part of the problem. Even the well intended community service does more to expose trouble children to comrades than to dissuade further criminality.

I should finish by assuring everyone, I have no good ideas as to a solution. I fear that so long as corruption is the basis of humanity, which seems to be true regardless of good intent all our entities seem to have some level of corruption from corporations to unions to government to churches to ...., there is no solution to many of our problems, this being one of them.
The solution is to stop encouraging the victim mentality in the black community. Stop trying to make black even more dependent on government assistance. Stop promising them that the government is going to make their lives better. Stop claiming that all white folks are racists and that black folks don't have a chance.

This is a problem that the government created. The government isn't going to fix it by throwing money at it.

In spirit, I think it's a great idea. It's the execution that I'm skeptical about.

If the program offers advice such as, "get you head out of your ass, man up and get a ****ing job", then I believe it has a chance at significant success.

If it does nothing more than promote the same Leftist victicrat mentality, then it will add fodder to the already through the roof crime rate in the black community.
