They kept showing his TWO REBOUNDS over and over and over.

There is nothing notable about a 10-day contract. There are piles of 10-day contracts ongoing through the year to cover injuries or for short look-sees.

I thought the goal was to not focus on his gayness. The media won't have it. He needs a grand stage to go out and pull down those two rebounds.
Players like Kevin Love will regularly have twenty rebound nights, but Jason Collins and his awesome two rebounds is the greatest thing that happened all week in sports.

Personally i have a hard time getting super excited for 1 ppg even being the first. Michael Sam looks way more promising, if he's not totally screwed over on draft day. Perhaps this is why Collins gets this attention, because we still expect the gay athlete to be screwed like that.
He had 17 reps, which is abhorrent for a D-lineman. If he doesn't get drafted, it's on him.

Also, it's really sad that you "finally" have someone to root for. You couldn't root for a player because you like him for any other reason? Hell, I like to keep up on Timmy Hardaway Jr. (Knicks) and Trey Burke (Jazz). Three guesses why.

It'd be like me cheating on my wife with a stank hotel slut and saying "thank you Kobe...NOW I have someone to root for".

I would assume that at this point the media circus is over. I hope so. It's a broken barrier, so it's a big deal for now. If they keep it up forever...

Well, you're following it closer than me apparently. I wasn't even aware the combine started. I was thinking more of the "defensive player of the year" in the best conference as a resume builder.

Of course i tried that way, but you lose interest when you realize that "you people" just aren't welcome. Because that's for all the world what it seems like. You really think if there were 0 black athletes in baseball still there would be ANY black following? Why would they support a league that doesn't support them? The NFL has a long ways to go to convince me it's not deeply anti-gay. Michael Sam getting a much deserved chance would be a step in that direction.

Not the case at all, but i'm certainly not going to invest anything into a league/sport/team that actively opposes us. For all the chris culliver douches freaking out at the mention of a gay teammate, i have more than zero self respect.

You act like it's a freakin' conspiracy. It's not that the NBA (or other sports) is not allowing gays. There's just nobody willing to come out. What's your solution? Do we assign someone to be gay at random so we can show that it's gay-friendly? I'm sure Manti Te'o can be given a "fag tag" so that gays know it's ok to be gay and in professional football.

I'm white. Guess I should be a huge fan of Toby Gerhart and say that he's the best running back since John Riggins. Do you know how retarded that sounds?

Well, he couldn't let Michael Sam be first, could he?

He had zero points, but also zero anal rapes so that's good.
Some of those fouls could have been attempted rape.. You know how those guys like to use their posteriors to gain position.

You have to admit, that's pretty good for a gay guy.

    I kid, I kid.

Well then thank God the refs stepped in and stopped an all out orgy from breaking out on the court

as for Collins' lack of rebounding skill/stats, you'd think a gay guy would be better at getting his hands on the balls........
