Will this be more meaningful than when they took out Carlos Lehderer?

Watch the date of the two news. Was it a cover up job when D.O.J. has been revealed a covert relationship with drug gangs?

Was it a cover up job when D.O.J. has been revealed a covert relationship with drug gangs?

The second article doesn't "reveal" that the U.S. has had a "covert relationship" with drug gangs.

The second article "reveals" that Jesus Vicente Zambada-Niebla, a known, ranking member of the Sinaloa cartel, claims that (Sinaloa lawyer) Loya Castro further claimed that he (Castro) had negotiated some kind of covert relationship with the U.S. government.

It really amounts to little more than criminals and their lawyers engaging in a bout of he-said, she-said.

There's no evidence in the article that such a relationship actually exists or existed nor is there any corroboration from the U.S. government that such a relationship exists or existed.

US Court Documents Claim Sinaloa “Cartel” Is Protected by US Government

Deal Allegedly Gave Sinaloa Bosses Immunity in Exchange for Providing Info on Rival Drug Organizations

The son of a heavy hitter in a powerful Mexican drug trafficking organization has filed explosive legal pleadings in federal court in Chicago accusing the US government of cutting a deal with the the “Sinaloa Cartel” that gave its leadership “carte blanche to continue to smuggle tons of illicit drugs into Chicago and the rest of the United States.”

The source of that allegation is Jesus Vicente Zambada Niebla, the son of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada Garcia, one of the purported top leaders of the Sinaloa drug-trafficking organization — a major Mexican-based importer of weapons and exporter of drugs.

Again.

The "US Court Documents" mentioned in the article?

They're the documents filed by the cartel's lawyers.

There is nothing for me to defend.

There's a legal battle that has to play its way through and I'm not necessarily taking sides on how it shakes out.

But this is an/the "allegation" that the U.S. government is sheltering drug gangs.

It isn't a guilty verdict.

Guzman not likely to be in US court soon
By ALICIA A. CALDWELL 2/23/2014
WASHINGTON (AP) — After 13 years on the run, narrow escapes from the military,

Why could he could escape for 13 years, but being arrested after the news revealed the secret deal between DEA and his gang?
Was it too coincident with the following news "between the years 2000 and2012"? He was safe under the protection of the secret deal.
