Sometimes that seems the only rational conclusion.

Perhaps. That really depends on who replaces him.

We will soon know if you're right or not. I'm going to make a prediction: Should El Chapo wind up in jail, you'll never come back and admit you've got egg all over your face. xxx

Good news and surprising considering it seemed like he had most of the Mexican government in his pocket for awhile.
This sounds like good news, but do you think it will make a difference? I'm thinking that there is just another person in line waiting to take his place.

Even if he does manage to escape like last time, it might be hard to prove if it was by chance or government assisted.
I call my own shots, largely based on an accumulation of data, and everyone knows it.

There are actually two guys that may or may not be trying to take his place in the Sinaloan Cartel. If the power gets handed over smoothly it could be business as usual. If there is any power struggle that will make a huge difference both for the Sinaloan cartel and the other ones who will jump at that.

Hopefully, they have plans for that. If WE realize that, I'm sure the Mexican authorities and officials must too. It would be really nice to see that country come together and beat this scourge of drug cartels. Colombia was quite successful. Granted, a lot of people didn't necessarily agree with their methods, but they really put a HUGE dent in the problem there.

It's well known that Chapo and other drug barons bribe officials, so thoroughly that they actually end up controlling 1/2 or more of the govt. of the country in which they have HQ. With that much control, arrest, or at least permanent jail time is impossible.

The more likely scenario is that Chapo cut a deal w/Pena Nieto that he would keep the streets a bit quieter if Nieto set up a mock arrest of him, and lied to the media claiming he was actually the one arrested.

Chapo probably just wanted to be left alone, and playing dead (or arrested) is a nice way to do that. His less noodle-minded rivals will likely buy the Mexican govt's line, just like you did
How do I know it is him? I saw a picture of him in custody held by 3 Marines. You are making a lot of assumptions here.

This fantasy that Americans have that the Mexican government is controlled by the cartels is just that, a fantasy.

Out money laundering laws are so strict it is hard to even conduct legal business here because they assume everybody is laundering money.

If the cartel controlled the government, none of those laws would exist.

Again I will ask you, where do you get your information?

How about family members and other people that know him and the situation.

    Now your turn.

So I guess the shoot out between the cartel and the military here in my town are for show as well?

The smashed up bullet-ridden police trucks really don't exist? The body shop I use will be glad to know that he doesn't have to fix the Chevrolet truck the was smashed and has a ton of bullet holes in it.
