I would agree with you, except OWS would not be who I support. Unlike OWS, I prefer freedom and liberty to the slavery of socialism.

    Re: Ukraine in Flames

The US and European influences in the Ukraine is the continuation of the Cold War strategies of who can get economic interests. We want leadership that will make deals with European countries for gas and oil energy, while Russia wants to keep Gazprom in control.

Same thing with the Mid East and Venezuela, and while I understand our need for a role in geopolitical struggles we often overplay our hand with internal meddling. The idealistic notion (delusion) of bringing democracy to cultures, not ready to make such complete changes, was really about bringing our version of capitalism to untapped sources. I'm not sure our political leaders can separate a helping hand in other societies from advancing the wealth of their corporate cronies, at almost any human cost.

"freedom and libery" means slavery to the trans national corporations and the unelected CEO.

    You're poisoning this thread...

This isn't about anything you've been talking about. This is about a government that maintains itself in power by force despite losing all legitimacy to govern over the people... and the struggle that the people face every day, under pain of death, to restore themselves to the rightful place that the people hold in a democracy -> the people are in power, not the govt.

I'm sure Gandhi and MLK showed that. Of course it is often the easier and preferred method, but history still shows that violence isn't always the answer.

That noise you hear from Russia is the sound of tank engines being warmed up. It has been heard previously in East Germany, Hungary, and Czechoslovakia. Be afraid, Ukrainians. Be Very Afraid.

No, that would be corporatism. I'm against that also.

Peaceful protest like that only prosper if your enemy actually gives a damn about human rights. BTW, MLK had his brains blown out, yeah, that worked out great for him, didn't it?

It worked in the end. Lincoln also got his brains blown out, but his goal was accomplished. You're confusing personal life with a social achievement. By that logic martyrs would have also failed at the end, no?
