The viable long term solution to lowering food costs is for communities to focus on locally grown food. Locally produced food builds local economies instead of being handed over to corporations in another cities, states, or Countries. Since the food moves through fewer hands, more of the money you spend tends to get to the people growing it. Not to mention locally produced has a much less environmental impact.
