Obama has spent the past five years trying to manipulate Federal labor law in order to put his thumb on the scale in favor of unions. He used the most extreme measures trying to pack the NLRB. The election in Tennessee was a huge defeat for his policies. But, honestly, G-d forbid that we should let Corker out of the spotlight.

Yes, because Corker not Obama is the subject of the thread.

The comments in the last few days by Republican Southern politicians basically saying they do NOT want unionized plants in their states is far more preserving the GOP's political control of the state than it is anything else.

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

Who exactly tried to manipulate that situation?

Corker is NOT the subject of the thread and, in fact, Obama is far more relevant to the actual subject, the UAW defeat in Chatanooga. Corker was at best a bit player, Obama's entire union strategy suffered a massive defeat.

Such comments are most likely meant to curry favor with the state's voters, who are overwhelmingly anti-union.

Oh, and this whole time I thought the topic of the thread had to do with the vote in TN which brings up the pesky fact that Corker lied and the Republicans used a fear/smear campaign to influence votes. My bad it was ostensibly about Obama having a hand in the vote
