Has ever a non-corrupt politician come from New Orleans or Chicago?

New Orleans politics, perhaps. But you can't use New Orleans to judge the entire state. New Orleans is it's own little world.

I distinctly remember at that time people lashing out at GW Bush because he wouldn't let federal resources come under the control and command of Mayor Nagin and Governor Blanco. Although the people of New Orleans and surrounding areas suffered, it was probably a wise move.

I'd be worried about your own state if I was you. If you think no one ever gets charged for corruption in Texas because corruption doesn't exist I have a lot of things I'd like to sell you.

Bush knew that if he let Nagin and Blanco run the show, things would have gone to **** in about 5 minutes.

Yeah, just like Atlanta is its own little world in the state of Georgia. I got you.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

    Color me unsurprised.

I mean, it IS Louisianan after all, and he's a Democrat. Kinda adds up to me.

This is the guy who cried about not getting help from Bush. More likely he was crying because he wasn't getting a kickback from Bush.

Meanwhile, the citizens of New Orleans suffered.

Just another crooked politician in a very long line.... I don't agree about him being naive, apparently that was his defense. Lesson for all those aspiring crooked politicians... don't let the trail lead to you directly.
“I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on what’s being proposed here, he’d agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute.” - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

    That's racist.
