I think it would be nice if those Iranians were to request permission to dock at one of our ports. I'm sure we'd welcome those cadets...give them a chance to see what a reasonably free country looks like.

I don't think the Iranian government will risk it, though. They might lose half their crew.

I'm not a lefty though. Guess you've been missing my criticisms of the Obama administration. The real sin is found in the cover of wrong doing. I'm less concerned with it today then yesterday. I do agree with many others here that the American public is growing increasingly dissatisfied with it, and clearly the world is responding.

You don't start blowing up ships just because they come near your waters. That is a ludicrous approach to foreign policy.

You know the difference between the two (namely everything) and you know this is a hole you've dug yourself into. You don't have to defend a position just because you made a belligerent offhand comment like 9 pages ago. Let it go.

the iranians would first have to get out of the persian gulf to get at us.

and any ship capable of firing nukes would obviously kept under close watch.

I agree. We Americans are betterer than everyone else, especially all those Moozlims. We need to teach those Communist terrorists a lesson for thinking that they're our equal. We need to take over the whole Middle East (except for Israel of course) so that we can teach all those foreigners to just speak English and quit being such Moozlim Communists. Anyone who disagrees with us is a Moozlim sympathizing Communist who hates America, and they hate freedom too.

That's because in the very real world, killing the sailors on those ships as you suggested is murder. And I know damn well you wouldn't find Iran justifiable sinking US ships just for being in the straight of Hormuz.

If the ships had nukes, I would not be cool with that. However, I don't think Iran has the bomb yet - although they certainly seem to be trying to make one.
