Texas gov candidate Wendy Davis supports open carry law

Do you support Open Carry?

She married a guy who was willing to cash in his 401(k) in order to put her through law school, and on the day that he made the last payment, she left him. But she left him with the kids because she wanted a political career, and being "mom" was such a time-wasting drag, you know. He even got custody of the kids that weren't his, which virtually never happens in Texas.

Meh, sounds like what thousands of men...like doctors and lawyers and politicians...have been doing for decades. They are all throughout our political system. I dont hear much about it. I wasnt aware they were 'bad' politicians (altho that is very subjective)....are they getting the job done? Like I said...very hypocritical.

No kidding. I can provide the sources to prove the opposite all day....and the videos.

Cut my teeth on all those FBI and other 'gunfights'.

No doubt she will present as quite the reasonable 'moderate'...right up until the final vote is counted.

Many states have OC (no permit required)....what are the stats on issues occurring from that in those states? IMO this is probably a non-issue in 'real terms.' Just a huge prejudicial one.

The fact that 9 out of 10 times mass shooters choose unarmed targets.

And the price of tea in China is?

Most people aren't armed in the first place, sheesh

So, you think it's a coincidence that the targets are usually gun free zones?

If perps chose their target based on being armed, mass shootings would only occur inside police stations and never schools or malls.

There is no shooting back because I get to shoot first.

well time for some education

what is the hit probability
what is the chance that the person you hit will not be able to return fire?

Yeah because mass killers like that are the bastion of rational thinking:roll:

that's funny coming from someone who thinks more gun laws-and the consequences of breaking those laws-will deter mass killers

Vs the opinion of an anon internet poster named Turtle Dude

I suspect my credentials on the subject are years ahead of ANYONE who works for Mother Jones. Don't think any of their drones were ever general counsel to major league gun groups, gun makers, or law enforcement agencies. but the evidence is obvious

Newtown-GFZ
Aurora Co-the killer bypassed closer or more populous theaters that were not GFZ
EVER HS shooting is a GFZ
Long Island RW shooting-GFZ
Luby's Texas-GFZ
San Ysidro McDonald's massacre-GFZ

Odds are that the opinions of an anonymous netizen are more reliable, sensisble, and sane than those of a writer for Mother Jones.

Correlation does not equal causation. That old saw fits here.

I'm not disputing the overall argument but this is not 'proof.'

The Aurora shooting certainly is

I wonder about people who claim to be pro gun who constantly whine about pro gun posts that are far more accurate than anti gun posts

It's political fluff. TX is full of brain-dead xenophobic right wingers running around and nothing gets them riled up more than gun-friendly talk.

It sure is easy to dismiss your political opponent if all that matters is how many insults you can string together in a single sentence. Just saying.

Because I dont believe in just being right...I believe in being honest.

I dont believe that gun rights need to be secured by lying or obscuring facts or slanting information.

It's also dishonest to imply that I have not spoken out against anti-gun posts.

I don't think there is any legitimate dispute that GFZ are magnets for mass murderers and that the body counts in GFZ are higher

No, that's the ridiculous smear campaign fed to you by the GOP. Her children have soundly debunked it. Congrats on buying the BS though.

That's an interesting claim. Are you suggesting that the Texas court documents recording that are frauds, or have the children made those claims?
