CVS becomes first big US drugstore chain to drop tobacco

CVS becomes first big U.S. drugstore chain to drop tobacco | Reuters

Might cost them millions or even billions a year but their CEO (I just heard him speak) said it was the right thing.

I always thought it was funny that stores like GNC,Walgreens and other similar stores carried beer and tobacco products. It seems like it would be like walking into a GNC and they have chocolate cake and donuts or walking into a pussy vegan store and they got real meat.

But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Strange, Obama came out nearly immediately and praised them for helping 'his' campaign against smoking related deaths.

A tip of the Chapeau to CVS.
Give a man a fish and he can eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he can sit in a boat, drinking beer all day while you fool around with his Woman.

CVS plans to open Urgent Care Clinics in their stores. Selling tobacco products could be seen to conflict with this plan I suppose.

CVS plans for six Minute Clinic locations in New Hampshire, including Concord | Concord Monitor

Who cases if Obama supports what CVS is doing.

Right Wingers should be applauding that a private business is making their own decisions.

I agree with you on the tobacco products, but there is nothing wrong with beer as long its consumed responsibly.
