What do you think the minute clinic is for? It is to healthcare what McDonald's is to fine dining. Where did you come up with this plan to accomplish open hearts in the heartburn meds isle past the stationary. IS this a story in the nutty RW noise machine I have so far missed?

That in of itself doesn't sound like a bad thing. If someone has a simple problem, like an infected cut or something, than probably someone with basic first aid training would work in most cases. If its a more advanced problem, minute clinic guy do a referral to someone with a higher level of training.

If it helps clear out doctors visits for things that someone cheaper and less well trained can do, it should help healthcare costs overall. For example, if had a bad cold which I thought it could be something else because I felt awful, so I went to the doctor, the doctor told me it was just a bad cold (the way my throat hurt, it felt like strep throat). Minute clinic guy could have just as easily shined a flashlight to look at my lymph nodes and it wouldn't have cost as much. If it turned out to be strep, then he could refer me.

Why are people putting this sort of thing down?

This whole thread is just weird.

conservatives complaining about a business making business decisions. Liberals defending capitalism.

wtf is wrong with you people?

CVS is just making room for the bongs.

The Minute Clinic scenario is just one example of how CVS could be planning to make up the cig revenue.

Whatever direction this giant corporation takes will result in profits they could not have made if not for Obamacare.

Big Corp + Big Govt isnt my cup of tea.

You're right... this topic is upside down.

So you really dont know and have no evidence, but you just know somehow anything that changes anywhere in healthcare, is somehow Obama and or Obamacare's fault? And it is bad.

I will hold back my opinion until the results are in in terms of health outcomes versus cost
