As in, what now, George Zimmerman?
Seems like the former neighborhood watchman has found yet another way to remain in the public limelight.
This time, he'll be stepping into a boxing ring to fight rapper DMX.

Zimmerman said the celebrity boxing match was his idea. Boxing was his hobby, he told Radar Online last month, even prior to the "incident."
The incident, of course, is the February 2012 encounter in which he shot dead an unarmed Trayvon Martin, 17. He stood trial for murder, but was acquitted.
"Prior to the incident, I was actually going to the gym for weight loss and doing boxing-type training for weight loss," he told Radar.
"A mutual friend put me in contact with Damon and provided me with an opportunity and motivation to get back in shape and continue with my weight loss goals and also be able to help a charity out."

Damon is Damon Feldman, owner of Celebrity Boxing and self-described opportunist, whose claim to fame is putting together bizarre matchups. Think Tonya Harding, Michael Lohan.
He said last week that he was accepting offers for someone to step into the ring for a three-round, pay-per-view fight with Zimmerman.
"The news has been out for an hour and my e-mail is overloaded with 8,000 people wanting to fight George," Feldman told CNN on Thursday.
Early Wednesday morning, he said he's picked the contender. Out of more than 15,000 e-mailed requests, he's going with DMX.

"The match will be one of the Biggest Celebrity Boxing matches of all time," his news release said (uppercase emphasis his).
But in order to find out where and when it will take place, we'll have to wait until next week.
DMX, as we know is a rapper, and braggadocio is his calling card.
He's out for blood, he told TMZ. Not only will he break every rule in boxing, he said, he'll "beat the living (expletive)" out of Zimmerman.

Ian Karmel, a writer for "Chelsea Lately," has a better idea.
"They should send Floyd Mayweather to the ring and tell George Zimmerman it's DMX," he tweeted. "He won't know the difference."

That was my thought as well. I liked The Game as an opponent cause I know he would bring it .... DMX not so much.

Zimmermann should have challenged Jesse Jackson and said cmon put your money where your mouth is.....its for Helping others. Charity.....that which you always take advantage of.

Then we could watch Jesse get his come uppance like he should have a long long long time ago.

He was lucky he had protection from Jeff Fort and the Blackstone P Rangers. Otherwise.....many others in the people wanted to get their hands on Jesse. Course this was before his so called finding of God and Jesus. Oh, and before he tried to grab on to the Coat tails of MLK.

Well, I'm going to guess it's more about his history than where he is currently. To "walk away from a life of crime" one kind of needed to have a life of crime. Multiple arrests, multiple times in jail, a slew of charges ranging from drugs to guns to animal cruelty to outright theft and assault. Or perhaps his twelve children from multiple women, some of which were from extramarital affairs, could play into it as well.

I'm not one that's going to label him a piece of **** or some kind of role model; I don't know the guy, hard to really judge. But it's not unfathomable why someone would possibly call him a POS.

Now as to the fight...

I think Zim will still be playing games. He'll take it as a joke until he's battered so badly he can no longer remember his own name. That's what DMX does to people. He makes cowards disappear from public view by setting them straight, making it so they never come back into the public. When you next see Zimmerman it'll be the last time you'll see Zimmerman.

So if Zimmerman wants it, DMX's has it, so all he has to do is come and get it from DMX because all they have to do is set up the date and DMX will do it or die trying.

Now what'cha people want?

Heya Zyph. :2wave: Yeah.....I knew he had trouble back in the day and I haven't kept up with whats going on with him. But if people think Zimmermann will be able to handle DMX I think they got another thing comin.

One thing DMX knows about and Zimmermann doesn't is.....Where Da Hood At.

Well that's why.....I think he should still challenge Jesse. Once he wins.....there will be more than just Gold and an Operation Push at the End of that Rainbow. :lol:
 
The promoters got over 8000 emails from those interested in boxing (cough) Zimmerman.
A lot of animosity out there against a guy who was simply defending himself.



But this match up is ridiculous.
And with Earl Simmons (DMX) having said the following, he should not have been selected, as he has already stated he is not going to follow the rules.

"I am going to beat the living **** out him … I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I **** him right up."

DMX says, "Once I am done with him, I am going to whip my d**k out and piss on him ... right in his mutha****in face."​


And since they have selected him after he made those comments, I sure hope it becomes a liability and Zimmerman sues the crap out of the promoter.

Well....he repeatedly cheated on his wife. Fathered a bunch of kids with a bunch of different women that he doesnt support. He tried to file bankruptcy to avoid paying child support. And this was last year. Been tied to rapes, and assaults. Convicted of a multitude of crimes. Piece of **** even has some nice animal cruelty charges on there.

You want to talk about how he walked away from a life of crime? The POS was arrested and jailed less than 3 months ago. And on 4 separate incidences in 2013.

Nothing about this piece of **** suggests he has accepted God, or walked away from anything. He is a sorry piece of **** who doesn't take care of his kids, doesn't respect the laws, cheats on his wife, abuses women and animals and has learned nothing from it.

Aside from all the Martin stuff which is enough in itself for me to consider the pos a pos, there have been plenty of other incidents. Many of which involved threats and violence against his wife. That and multiple reports of him profiling and targeting young black males in his neighborhood even prior to Martin.

This is not some kind of post that I think Zimmerman is guilty of murder because I do think he acted within the law. But he is still a piece of ****.
