Bad weather batters Europe

The weather seems to treat the contributors to global climate fairly and based on merit. Our contribution to green gases is minimal thereby we seem to be spared from the battering winter conditions.

There has not been any better winters here for us in decades! Who ever heard of a go-out-with-jacket-alone-February in Dardania?!

When you say "Bad Weather" I assume you mean a British Summer?

No, I mean 5 feet of snow. ;)

Btw, how's the weather up there in England? I hear some floods are torturing you lately.

Mostly coastal flooding on the south coast and rainfall in the north, though the Somerset levels are getting turned into ocean, bad flooding there.

BBC News - Living 'island life' on the Somerset Levels

The village has been cut off for a month, time has slowed down and everything takes longer, but many residents say they have been coping well.

They have been grappling with island life, as the land that surrounds the stone farmhouses has been inundated with muddy water.

Hey, look! I spent all that money on things and travel producing huge quantities of co2 and now you get the warmth? And you make fun of me out here in the cold? You're mean.

Do not get me wrong. All I am saying is that the weather has been fair in targeting the most responsible for global climate. Would you have felt better if we who had the least contribution to global climate (assuming it is anthropogenic) would pay the heavy price as you do? Plus a small not united with Albania country such as ours may not have the necessary facility to bounce off the damage of such a severe weather like you could.

As to being mean, you are welcome to pay us a visit until the weather at your country calms down. You can even plan this ahead for next winter if interested.

I always giggle at this kinds of post. Yep, I am a giggler.

But what was the weather like 500 years ago in these areas. This is what winter is suppose to be like in these areas.

500 years ago there were no power lines to be be destroyed by ice.
500 years ago there was no family without burning wood. Some people use electricity for heating nowadays. When there is no electricity they have no heating.
Go ahead, giggle.

So some snowflakes were spotted?

You are freaking out about weather which is the NORM. I can't tell you, and many US posters as well, how many times the things you are worried about happens in the US. Ice happens. People lose power, power is replaced. As a teen I lost power for over two weeks during and after the Blizzard of 1996, which followed cold temps and major flooding. Lost power for 5 days during Christmas week in 2004 and temps fell to -17 Fahrenhiet, didn't have a chimney or anything like that. Like I said I'll giggle.
