  1. State Department releases Keystone XL final environmental impact statement

The State Department concluded in its final environmental assessment issued Friday that the proposed Keystone XL pipeline would not significantly alter global greenhouse gas emissions, but officials cautioned that they were still weighing whether or not the project would meet the test of the president’s broader climate strategy. The report “is not a decision document,” said Kerri-Ann Jones, assistant secretary of state for oceans and international environmental and scientific affairs. “This document is only one factor that will be coming into the review process for this permit” sought by TransCanada, the Calgary-based energy giant.:peace

He's such an arrogant dictatorial cringer, no wonder the right don't understand him.

What kind of dictator is held in check by a House, Senate, and Supreme Court? The detractors don't care how ridiculous their claims are getting. And it's also ridiculous to base much of the Keystone project on whether or not it will affect the climate.

Good evening 2M.

I'd prefer if the Canadian government would withdraw support for the pipeline and move forward with plans to pipe the oil west to the Pacific, for tanker shipment to Asia and east to New Brunswick refineries, for sale to Europe and others who want it - keep it entirely Canadian and all the jobs and profits here.

As it stands now, the oilsands products are being sold below market value because it is essentially landlocked and US companies get a deal on it.

The environmental concerns related to Canada are a crock if you compared Canada's impact to the US impact. Obama is all image, all PR, and zero substance.
