Edward Snowden nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize

Good news indeed!! :)

Perhaps they can restore some measure of dignity and respect to the Nobel process.

Naming Kissinger and Obama as winners greatly besmirched the process.
 
I would say no, just based on principle and what he did. However, given that the Nobel peace Prize has been turned into a joke award over that past couple of decades, why not.

He deserves it, but the pope will win for attacking the rich and advocating redistributionism.
 
It's really too bad the Nobel peace prize turned into just another junk award to be made fun of. It's good for people to have inviolable standards they can aspire to rather than just PC nonsense used to appoint the winners and losers in life.

What's really offensive is that everyone knows the truth, but they do it anyway.

The Nobel Peace Prize used to stand for something. Not anymore. Now its just a few weird old Norwegian guys deciding what they think is cool.
 
Snowden is an idiot, in Russia, in the winter. Is there a Nobel prize for being an idiot? LOL., all the countries spy, they are all laughing at the US, because of an idiot. You have to be extra stupid to do it how Snowden did it. If there was a problem, it would be easy to expose it without exposing yourself and being in Russia. But you can't be an idiot like Snowden. Can't believe it. Even Watergate was broke by keeping the primary safe. Has the world dumbed down.
Are you all worried your illegal activity was found out with illegal means? Means we all skate, we all get an out of jail free card for our activities not related to terrorism.

I find it hilarious people who do talk in the clear are upset they were cheap and talked in the clear - there are secure means to talk, and I guess geeks are the only ones who do it.

I used secure com before, why are all you Snowden fans unable to stay secure? We can't stop listening, we will not stop listening, we have been doing it for a long time. All they needed was warrants, or you gave permission and never knew it - in the military you calls are what?

Russians are now able to study Snowden's stuff and see if they are doing all the stuff we are. Snowden is a traitor, any good he does is offset by the waking up the lazy terrorists to be secure, and others now buying the secure com stuff from the companies I bought stock in the day Snowden when stupid on the US. Good job Snowden, you get an award for making my stocks jump. Give him the Nobel, more advertising for my stocks, and my profits in 2014, the year of the secure communication buying spree inspired by a failed nut; wait, did Snowden and his dad buy up the stock too?

I think I've finally figured it out. The Nobel Prize selection committee is from the future. How else would they know that many years down the road Yasser Arafat and Obama would be responsible for world peace, or that Snowden's actions successfully created a transparent and just planet.

Jesus is the Nobel Peace Prize as far as I'm concerned. He was first a foremost a pacifist:

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God

How he, in 2014, would assess the current situation I cannot presume.

What the Pope wants, is more government involvement to make things fair.

I can't get on board with that, even if Jesus said so himself.

Since it was Alfred Nobel who invented dynamite, and it's use in weapons of war, it is quite ironic who is getting the peace prize nowadays.

OBAMA - We will bomb them into peace. LOL.

Good for him. It's nice to see the anti-establishment get the credit they deserve. Checks and balances are necessary, however unorthodox they may seem at times.
 
Good for Snowden. Unfortenately it means squat. The Nobel Peace Prize has been a joke for a couple of decades.

If you really think that secure.com is safe from government intrusion you are sadly mistaken. Particularly for the things that the NSA was exposed for.
 
Why do I get the feeling if an alien came down and used a weapon to evaporate the United States, that alien would be nominated for a Nobel Prize?
