Nah, what would it accomplish? Your dissections won't get you anywhere. Will they convince me that they are incorrect? No. Will they convince you that you are incorrect? No. We could put on the show, but I'm not sure what the purpose would be.

Actually, I think some people are, which is pretty misguided. I know I absolutely am not. Not only is it a fairly useless endeavor, but it really isn't the purpose of debate. The real purpose of debate is to present your own argument as well as possible, while simultaneously thrashing your opponent's argument. Altering someone's opinion has nothing to do with it.

Me too. It would pretty much eliminate personal attacks and would remind people that most of what we talk about at DP is opinion and personal belief-system based. The best debaters aren't the ones who hold the "best" positions... whatever that means; there are no "best" positions. They are the ones who can present their positions in the best way.

That kind of ignorance is not likely to endear the 1% to progressives, believe me. Besides, we only want to take their things, not kill them all, nor was every jew in germany in the 1%. The obscene wealth and excess of the 1% in america today is something they *all* have in common.

Hatred of Jews is based on a number of things. Occupy doesn't hold the rich responsible for the death of Jesus, for instance. Doesn't think they're responsible for the Black Death. Makin bread out of babies. The list is extensive.

The aristocracy in France was taking too much of France's wealth unto themselves. And the majority of new productivity in the past thirty years HAS gone to the 1%.

The Jews were scapegoated. And the Nazis weren't the first to do so.

Of course there is the alternative to greed, which is that the rich are smarter, better educated and work harder than 99% of other people.

Could it be that 99% of people should become greedier in order that they too have more stuff?

Or maybe there is more to life than that.

Without God or money Leftists seem to get quite frustrated with their situation.

Someday I hope to find out how much the rich pay for things like "envy" and "job creators". They certainly did.

There's a receipt or pay stub for both, bet your ass.

PR is a ten billion dollar a year industry, outside of those in direct employ.

Somewhere there's a guy on a yacht paid for by " you're just envious of the rich because you're not". And a mansion bought with the proceeds of "the rich are job creators".

why? they have no legal power, no special privilages over you, so maybe some bad street crime. no mugger can take near as much away from you as the bankers can, and they can do it legally.

NOBODY is thousands of times smarter, harder working, or better educated than everybody else. Simply not true.

Dozens, maybe even low hundreds. But not thousands.
