Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi [W:185]

Re: Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi persecuti

Can you post an example of this radical hate speech?

Not quite sure what you are looking for here, but consider this...

A survey by Democratic pollster Douglas Schoen of OWS protesters in Zucotti Park showed 31 percent "would support violence to advance their agenda." That figure is incorrect; it is closer to 100 percent. Never mind the occasional guillotine poster, this week's rioting in Oakland, or the sometime enthusiasm for mass-murdering Bolsheviks. OWS demands more government redistribution of wealth—a process entirely dependent on the use of force. (Just ask actor Wesley Snipes, currently doing a three-year stretch in the federal pen for tax evasion.)

Then there is the hatred of capitalism ("DEATH TO CAPITALISM"; "CAPITALISM DOESN'T WORK"; etc.). The alternative to a free market is, of course, an unfree one, requiring that somebody make sure people do not go around exchanging goods and services through mutual consent. How do you stop consensual activity? Take a wild guess.

The Disturbing Agenda of Occupy Wall Street - Reason.com

During protests at Zucoti park, many were heard chanting "Jump you bastards"....and worse...What is it you are looking for?

Re: Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi persecuti

I've said it three times now....I don't believe he is talking about taxation policy....Can we get past that into the demonization going on please?

Well, how else could you pick on the rich? Perhaps that lobotomy wasn't as successful as you had hoped. Although

Re: Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi persecuti

If your point is that we should feel sorry for billionaires and the horrible burden of having so much, then I'm hardly making your point.

"Feel Sorry"? no...But clearly you have some sort of animosity toward those better off than you, otherwise you'd not be mocking them.

I tried but you wont post an example of this radical hate speech.

Wait, now it's just "animosity?"

Re: Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi persecuti

When the rich are being dragged out into the streets, being sent to death camps, or being subject to, you know, actual persecution, I will agree.

Until then, this guy's comparisons are self serving and pathetic.

Too late by then...Would you enjoy seeing that take place?

Re: Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi persecuti

eh, people are jealous of the rich, big deal. they get the consolation prize of being rich. if a paper pisses them off, they could buy it and shut it down if it bothers them so much.

also, the rich have it pretty good. if we were monkeys and two monkeys had a corner on the banana market in the jungle, those two monkeys would get straight up killed and eaten by the rest. America's rich only have to endure jealousy. i'd be enduring that jealousy in my vintage XKE while flipping toggle switches that must do something or other. i'm sure it's still good to be king.

Can you not see the jealousy in your own caricature here? What did these people do to you, for you to display such contempt?

Re: Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi persecuti

Well, how else could you pick on the rich?

Why should you want to?

Perhaps that lobotomy wasn't as successful as you had hoped. Although

Care to explain what you mean here?

Re: Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi persecuti

I don't even know what's being argued here, j-mac, what are you even trying to say?

Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi perse...

Too late by then...Would you enjoy seeing that take place?

Obviously, I wouldn't, but at the same time there is no reason to believe a crystal night will ever happen. We have has rhetoric against the rich since the beginning of this country and in historical cases (such as the Great Depression) that rhetoric has been much more aggressive than it is now. Heck, there is grumbling about everything in this country. This grumbling is no more special than any other.

Second of all, you can be up and alarmed all you want, but I am not willing to infringe on first amendment rights because of a what if. That kind of idiotic thinking got us embroiled in Iraq for example, going after a "might be". I am happy to prosecute laws as they are actually broken.

Lastly, life is risk. I could just as easily say that a meteor could fall any day and accuse you of being an accomplice if you don't support giving nasa giant lasers and missiles. Don't play that game.

Any comparison to the nazis has to involve comiting atrocities on par with the nazis worst atrocities. To call someone a nazi just because you disagree with his position is a disservice to all those who died under the regime.

Re: Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi persecuti

How many were killed during the occupy movement again?

If you are counting instances if dignity, lots of casualties

If it were obvious, I wouldn't have asked.

People are different now than they were then as well...IMHO, there is a general lack of core morality simmering that wasn't there then.

Come on! Does everything have to tie into Iraq for you progressives? I mean jeeze, you guys got your man in, and he did what you wanted, that was to abandon any victories there, and give up so let it go...As far as infringing on the 1st amendment, so far they haven't, but I will note that you will wait to see violence take place before getting upset....I wonder though, how it would be if instead of the rich we were talking about, it was progressives, and there were throngs of people talking about how progressives should just commit suicide, and how they don't deserve to live etc....Would you then, as a progressive yourself be so willing to wait to see if something happened?

Lastly, life is risk. I could just as easily say that a meteor could fall any day and accuse you of being an accomplice if you don't support giving nasa giant lasers and missiles. Don't play that game.

Your ambivalence can only give you comfort because you agree with them...Wait until "rich" is described as what you have.

Re: Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi persecuti

Occupy movement, a loose band of folks who felt it better to pitch up tents instead of turning anything into political action vs. A governing group who's clear intention was to cause harm to jews using the full force of the state and dedicated military units specifically trained to hunt down, murder, enslave and exterminate people of a specific ethnic group.

YEAH!

That's totally the same j-mac

As jmotivator already pointed out, Nazi Germany didn't just erupt in Krysatal Nacht as a spontaneous event, it was a build up of years of demonetization that preceded it....

Iraq was a war we should not have fought and we fought it for the wrong reasons, so yeah it is a big deal.

Re: Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi persecuti

Can you not see the jealousy in your own caricature here? What did these people do to you, for you to display such contempt?

apathy =/= contempt.

the only contempt i feel is for the idiot who wrote that letter comparing his or her plight as a top one percenter to Nazi Germany. if i knew where he lived, i'd poop in a bag, set it on fire, and leave it on his doorstep. then i'd get out of there before he could release the hounds.

So, you want to burn his house down eh? Would you care if he was in it at the time?

Demonization of Jewish and other undesirables, not of big buissness. In fact big buissness and the nazis worked hand in hand to accomplish the nazi's crimes.

Re: Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi perse...

If it were obvious, I wouldn't have asked.

I am sure it was obvious to everyone else.

People are different now than they were then as well...IMHO, there is a general lack of core morality simmering that wasn't there then.

I disagree, human nature never changes. There were even armed marches on washington back then, something that didn't occur today.

Come on! Does everything have to tie into Iraq for you progressives? The object lesson of Iraq will always remain. Regardless if it were progressives, I will (and currently) do regard it the exact same way (remember, even the term liberal is considered derogatory by many of the more conservative ilk in this country, I pay it no mind), there is no credible threat nor is there actionable evidence that something like the FBI should look into. If Mr Pinkett were concerned, this is the avenue he should pursue, I am sure he has enough political pull to get a real investigation going.

Your ambivalence can only give you comfort because you agree with them...Wait until "rich" is described as what you have.

I agree with Nasa?

also this: Wait until "rich" is described as what you have. is not a complete sentence, i have no idea what you are trying to say, but I am sure its just more overly emotional goobledygook

Re: Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi persecuti

So, you want to burn his house down eh? Would you care if he was in it at the time?

now stop putting words in my mouth. i'll make sure that the back stoop is concrete, and i'll be courteous enough to ring the doorbell.

Re: Silicon Valley billionaire compares treatment of America's rich to Nazi persecuti

I don't think he is talking about taxation policy directly, but really more the drone on of people like OWS, and liberal news outlets like SFChron, that do their best to spew the 'eat the rich' line.

A bunch of homeless hippies is kristalnacht.

Rich people feel demonized? Who the hell cares? Go buy a Lexus and get on with your life. No ones coming for you. Not yet.
