I'm not accusing you of political agenda. You started a thread on a story we know very little about, and then regret that people aren't waiting until we know more. Well, Higgins, you didn't wait either. We all just jumped in, you, me, everyone. Non of us have very much information so there's nothing to post but random commentary.

If you wanted to start a real discussion on this incident in the BN forum, you should have waited until this evening or tomorrow when more information will be available.

That's what happens when you just want to be the first to make a thread on something.

I see. These shootings only happen in states with tight gun controls.

Except wait, you can carry handguns in Maryland.

    From your link:
Carrying a handgun, whether openly or concealed, is prohibited unless one has a permit to carry a handgun or is on their own property or their own place of business. The Maryland State Police may issue a permit to carry a handgun at their discretion and based on an investigation.[2][3] On March 5, 2012, a federal judge ruled in Woollard v Sheridan that Maryland's "may issue" concealed carry law is unconstitutional, writing, "A citizen may not be required to offer a 'good and substantial reason' why he should be permitted to exercise his rights." The Maryland Attorney General's office appealed the ruling.[9] On March 21, 2013, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals (U.S. Federal) unanimously overturned the District Court ruling, holding that the "good & substantial cause" requirements imposed by Maryland law are permissible infringements on the 2nd Amendment.[10]
Maryland is a "may-issue" state, meaning you have to have a "good and substantial reason" in order to be issued a permit to carry. "Good and substantial reasons" include police-documented death threats (and the permit is revoked when you can't re-prove ongoing threats), or employment in an armed capacity such as a armored-car service (and your permit only allows you to carry while on the job). If a Maryland citizen can't document a "good and substantial reason", they can't carry a handgun.

As I said, your regular Joe cannot carry a handgun in Maryland.

How about North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Arizona and Texas?

Those are all "shall-issue" states and your regular average Joe can carry there.

    Think before you write, Phil.
So the short answer to my question is "no".

Yes. They do. But we weren't talking about MSNBC only. His word was "media". I took it to mean national media.
