Shooting at Maryland Shopping Mall.

No. I mean not allowing private businesses OR the state to dictate any zone to be gun free. The mall in Maryland wasn't a state decided gun free zone for instance.

If a private entity declares itself a GFZ-that is their legal right But if they do that, it suggests they should take heightened measures to provide for the security of their business invitees

We have to make them stop doing it. Don't you realize all these killings are in gun free zones? If we don't have them, we don't have these shootings. It's common sense.

The silly sarcasm has been a failure dude. we know you are a gun restrictionist. Do you believe that private entities that declare their property GFZs have an increased duty to guard against violent criminals?

Its funny-liberals support private entities being able to ban CCW holders from being present and most conservatives or libertarians support that property right. (I support business owners being able to serve WHOMEVER they want myself)

I'm saying if everyone has a gun and can carry it wherever they want, the private entities don't have a worry in the world anymore. Everyone will be safe.

I think the pony is out of its one trick. Maryland is one of those backward states when it comes to the natural right of free citizens to be armed. Of course the administration of that state sees violent criminals as a constituency
 
I lived in Maryland for 20 years, and have been to that mall, as well as the concert venue across the street countless times. My wife worked with a girl who's family, knows the shooters family, and this is a BF/GF thing gone bad....A true tragedy....That some choose to jump directly to the pro/anti 2nd amendment thing is disappointing.

We've already gon over this. You have to present a 'special need" to carry a handgun in public, and while carrying a long gun is technically legal, the police arrest anyone who does for disorderly conduct.

IMO we need either a federal carry permit which all states have to honor, or federal guidelines for state-issue permits and mandatory reciprocation just like drivers licenses.

IMO we need a federal carry permit which all states have to honor. States can still have their permits and reciprocate as they please, and a federal permit holder would still have to comply with local ordinances regarding gun-free zones, etc.

Like I said. You can carry in Maryland. And shotguns are legal outside the home.

Anyway....how's the gun free zone working? Seems to be super effective.

To the range or out hunting, not to a mall. You get arrested for that....unless of course you kill yourself before the cops arrive, as happened here.
