Judge: brain-dead pregnant woman to be removed from life support

I am quite aware of what has been in the press about this case. She has been on life support all that time, not death support. It is fairly well a moot point right now, though. Take a break and get your states straightened out.

So, even though the doctors, hospital, and husband say she has been dead since 11/28/13 - you will acknowledge she was dead at that time?

Wow.

Your link is for New York. This case is in Texas.

SUBTITLE H. PUBLIC HEALTH PROVISIONS

CHAPTER 166. ADVANCE DIRECTIVES

SUBCHAPTER A. GENERAL PROVISIONS
"Life-sustaining treatment" means treatment that, based on
reasonable medical judgment, sustains the life of a patient and without which the patient will die.

This woman was already dead. Keeping her body going doesn't make her any less dead. She's brain dead and as such legally and medically dead.

Spend taxpayer money keeping a brain-dead woman "alive"? No problem.
Spend taxpayer money on actual living people's health care? We'd rather go to hell.
Spend taxpayer money delivering a dead fetus? You bet. All life is sacred!
Spend taxpayer money on health care for infants, children, and their mothers? Nope, they're just moochers.

What the ****?

Wow.

Not only that, in the case there was testimony to the fact that she was not only brain dead, her body (corpse) was decomposing while on life support.

Her dead body was being supported artificially against the will of her family in order to pretend like a fetus that was suffered a major anoxic insult was viable. I do not call that "life support" I call that a cruel hoax .
